Default So what is the Z "Salute"???

I know it's been asked before on other forums, but I've never heard a community response. What do we do when we pass/see another Z33? I've had a silver one pass me and all I did was grin like a fool and wave back.

When I was growing up, my dad had a Porsche 356, and Porsche people used to flick their parking lights as a "howdy." I always thought it was pretty cool, they were in the "Club."

Any thoughts?

I'd say wave is probably the norm. All Vette owners wave (regardless of year) and whenever I'm in my 442 all muscle car drivers wave and most GM guys flash lights as well and we often times pull over to chat. First time someone pointed off the road I thought they wanted to race but I now know it's to BS for a while (sometimes hours). Another group that waves a lot is the F-body group (Camaros, T/As, & Firebirds). Most motorcycle guys hold out a hand to acknowledge other cyclist. The only off-beaten one is the sport bikers versus Harley guys. I always hold my hand out but I'd say 50% of the Harley guys don't.

Any type of acknowledgement is okay in my book wether it's a wave, lights, etc.....

We need some kind of special Z salute...Anyone think of one?

Maybe you could make a Z with your hand?

I always like the Corvette wave when I had mine. It was pretty cool to have total strangers kinda say, "nice car."

We definitely need one for the Z. Hmmmm, but what could it be? Has to be original. When I was at college, all the bus drivers on campus would point at each other as their "howdy" sign. *Sigh* I miss Aggieland.

How about let's "Keep the flash alive!"

This was a Z32 campaign that was pretty workable and I first saw it at www.twinturbo.net.

You just do this by a simple pullback on your turn signal stalk. That will flash your brights at the oncoming Z and hopefully get a return flash.

Have fun!

Actually, every single bus driver in the entire world does that...HEre in New York, the school bus drivers do it, the public transportation bus drivers do it, everyone does it!! Ok I have a suggestion. You're going to have to drive with no hands, and risk getting into an accident but you could do this.

Ok look at the screen. Take your left hand, and point your index finger to the right of the screen.
-------->
Then, you left middle finger should be pointed down, so you form the diagonal of the Z. Remember, this is all backwards, so the other person can see it properly. And way, so you have the index finger and middle finger pointed the right way. Then use the index finger of the other hand and make the bottom of the Z. When you look at it, it should be a backwards Z.

OK, maybe its not practical and a little lame but its the best i could come up with.

Personally, I like flinging boogers at each other.

I usually wave if the person looks in my direction and seems friendly.

Yeah, I used to fart and belch, but that was futile -- the other person wouldn't hear me and I ultimately ended up torturing myself. But there's no other attention grabber than having a booger smack you upside the face...

Michael.

Here goes the military in me

Z in Morse Code is "- - .." Don't know if that is too much. If so, just go with three quick flashes to represent the three dots in the Z.

I think we should all wear Zoro masks and we can make the Z slash with a laser pointer. This may work also with a key on the side of a Honda S2000. Wait I take that back that may be slightly illegal and I wouldn't want them to scratch an H in my door.

Default In L.A. I give people the "Hang Loose"

In L.A. I use the Hawaiian "Hang loose" with the thumb and pinkie extended.
