Question Performance Issues

I recently bought a Z brand new... I have always loved the Z cars and could eventualy afford one. I used to have a 1994 2 door M3. After reading the specs on the new Z I saw that the figures were better than the M when it comes to torque and much of a muchness in the power department. Yet that M3 killes the Z all the way from pull away to top end !

This is just strange ... I mean, the Z is lighter and makes more torque ....yet the M3 seems to pull stronger

Did I get a dud ...or is this the way it is ?

The e46 m3 actually has better hp and tq numbers
as far as the '94 i dont remember numbers on it but i think they are comparable to the Z. anyway, bmw engines are tuned differently and pull out max tq at a different range on the tq curve. this may be why you are feeling a difference
