Default my tranny has gone to hell in my 04.5

I cannot stand my transmission anymore, i just hit 7k miles on my car today and this tranny is pure junk. First and second gear grind occaisonally during normal driving. Second grinds badly if im trying to shift as fast as possible at high rpm. It makes all kinds of loud rattling noises when going in and out of first second and third. The shifter doesnt even like to go into second gear, you almost have to force it in there most of the time. I took it to the dealer about 2 weeks ago and they told me theres nothing wrong with it. Im seriously considering trading it in on a low mileage c5 because of this crap. I bought my car new on july 15th of this year too. Rediculous. /rant

I feel your pain! I thought it was just me, but almost everytime I get into second and release the clutch I get a clunk sound. it is driving me insane! This really should not be happenning on a new car. It's wierd to, because the problem is intermittent, and sometimes it happens from 3-4 also.

Anyone have any solutions to this?

It is a defect.

So many of us experienced the same feelings.

Find a dealer that will swap it out. If your lucky, it will only take a day or two.

Once you get your new transmission, it feels like a new car again.

There is a post "Those of you who replaced your transmissions, document it here" in this forum. Search it out and you will see what I mean.
