I was in a dealership tonight checking out a touring and a track (BTW both for sale at Santa Monica Nissan) and while sitting in the 6spd. track I pressed the clutch down and damn if that thing wasn't stiff. I have a 91 Z32 and prevously had a Probe GT and both of those clutches were silk compared to that thing! My ankle literally started to ache after 4 or 5 times pressing on it.

It made me look at the manu-matic which I never thought I would do...

This thread and the different feedback replies are quite interesting..

I tried 2 different Z's with manual transmissions ... one in the showroom and one during my test drive.

I was amazed at how light the new Z clutch seemed.... since I was a little concerned of the clutch feel as I use my car daily... and...

after having also driven the R34 GT-R several times -- which I would need a leg brace if the Z were as heavy as that car...

The clutch is very easy to use. The clutch on my 1993 Mazda RX-7 is much tougher.

When I drove a 993 911, I was shocked at first because the pedals go to the floor, instead of going to the back wall.... you press them and there is a definite downward feeling. It suddenly dawned on me where pedal to the metal came from. lol The shifting in that car was nice and smooth, but I actually wasn't very impressed with it. I thought it was a bit vague, which I didn't like... oh well... I'll probably never be driving one of those again anyways! lol

I've found the clutch to be stiff to actuate, but during the range of motion, it was very smooth and consistent. Maybe people are describing different things.

My clutch is fine. It's pretty light and smooth. I'm more concerned about my shifter tho. It takes too much effort to get that stick into 1st and 2nd gears. There is a "bump" which seems to make it difficult to shift. Very weird.... like the others have said, I guess I'll wait and see until I put on some more miles on the car. As of tonight, I have 190 miles on my car.

Well, don't let Nissan get away with giving you a shitty car... if it's messed up, make sure they fix the problems!

If you haven't tried NNA, then that is a good start. If they don't help you out... then maybe it's time to seek assistance from the Better Business Bereau.
