Question 2003 Track Rearview Mirror: Program to open garage door?

My 2003 Track didn't come with an Owner's Manual and I'm curious about something. I tried to find the answer online (here and elsewhere) but to no avail. If anyone can answer this, I would VERY much appreciate it.

My (self-dimming) rearview mirror has buttons that can be programmed to work as your garage door opener. I tried a few different things and none worked.

How do I program the garage door opener buttons on the rearview mirror?

Also, besides ordering one from Nissan, is there any place online to view a 2003 Owner's Manual? Has anyone posted a PDF version or excerpts somewhere? The only thing I found was this ebay auction .

Thanks.

While owners manuals are typically pretty predictable, I *strongly* recommend that you purchase one at your local dealership. There is information about things like towing and servicing that you may not know, and it's better to buy the manual than damage your car.

Just a thought.

Enjoy the new car.

I think u hold down 1st and 3rd button down for like 20 sec.. until it blinks. Then release the two, and hold your regular garage door opener opener 3-4 inches away from your mirror, hold down the button u want to program at the same time u press the button on your garage door opener.. it said it will take up to 50 sec or something like that... Don't let go until it stops blinking... It starts to blink slow then speeds up and it stops...

BTW, if you have one of those rolling code garage openers, you have to press the "learn" button on your garage door opener before u do the above steps or u r wasting your time.. I learned it the hard way couple of nights ago...

Good luck!!!

Sully - Thanks so much for those. I really appreciate it.

kcobean - You're probably right. I think I'm going to skim the PDFs and then if start to reference them more than once or twice....it's time to buy a hardcopy.

Du4L337 - Thanks for the tips. My garage remote is a pain to get to work so this should be a fun excercise in patience for me. But once I'm done, it'll be great.
