Remember I haven't even made my offer yet. If a salesman is telling me invoice I'm sure I can get him down much further.
Car sales people generally don't make a lot of profit from my deals and I've been told before that they don't care. Not all dealerships are interested in trying to wring every last iota of profit from every car. Remember also that the dealership will write my financing. They do make money off of that.
The last truck I bought was for over $3500 under invoice. It's amazing the deal you can get on something on the lot at 7:30 p.m. the last day of the month and their last day of the quarter (June).
After buying the truck the salesman explained that some deals are great, some not so good. He had just had woman that day come in and pay $2k over MSRP for a Sienna.

Wow salesboy a little upset eh?
Personally I couldn't give a flying **** what you think.
I've walked out of dealerships plenty of times. I know I annoy salesdorks like you to no end. I love it.
It's not that I have skills, it's that I don't let salesdweebs like yourself take advantage of me.
I don't always come in at the last minute at the end of a month to purchase either.
And of course the truck had a rebate dumbshit... Duh, you think they'll really knock $3500 without one? It had a $2k rebate. Btw, they give me good deals partly because I've refered 3 other people including my mother who bought a loaded Sequoia. Wife just bought a loaded highlander. Simple deal, they wanted 1.5% over invoice (we went through internet sales avoiding the show room asswipes like yourself), we agreed minus the rebate. Done deal. I'm not out to try to screw over dealerships all the time. I'm sure if I ran across you I wouldn't get the time of day. You're living for the moment and not trying to build customer loyalty that in the long run usually brings more business and referals.
As far as the liquid alum color I could care less. I'm open to most available. I'm trying to work a deal with the dealership that I want to do my service but don't want to pay the extra cash for a color option that I don't think is nearly worth $1100.
Man the banality of car salesmen.

****!
I just bought my 05 2 weeks ago at 5%!!!
Oh well, my 05 will still be worth more when I get rid of it, I have more options included, and I hope they've fixed more problems over the 03-04.

Hey Salesboy, you attacked me first. Besides which you're a hypocrite. You'll post out here ragging on me because you're cleary bothered by people who know what they're doing and pay rock bottom prices for cars. You'd kiss my *** in a second if I walked into your dealership. On a forum you'll be honest, in person you're an asskisser. Hypocrite. Show me a used car LOL, you're all smack talk. Orlando has so many elite dealerships too. Now go sell a Sentra.
Like I said, you attacked me first. I just responded back Salesboy.
Now why I have no credit rating, which worked out great btw. By circumstance the house and the company truck (which I drive) ended up in the wife's name (simply because she could get a much better rate at the time). So I've had nothing in my name for 4+ years, therefore, no rating. But I did have many 30 day lates, and now I start clean. LOL, it was much better then trying to clean it up the ol fashioned way. I'll have perfect credit in no time, part of the reason I did the deal. 2% financing.
Regardless, I negotiated the truck deal and her Highlander deal and got a steal on both. Like I said, I've referred people between the Tundra and the Highlander. Point being is simple, how it is paid for and who is paying for it is not determined at negotiation time. They dealt with me on her Highlander and when the truck was there, she took over. Long story on that one.
Now I got my new Z sitting in the garage in a pretty simple way.
I picked the car through the internet, called about it and offered $100 over invoice which I'd been offered at 3 places in Tampa. I nearly bought one Sat but it had a bunch of interior bling glued on the inside which I hated. They offered it to me for $800 under invoice. The Liquid Alum one I mentioned. Now Salesboy will try to tell you they won't take a loss. However, the car had been there over 90 days and I knew . Salesboy can explain what happens then if he desires.
I got turned down by about %50 for my $100 over invoice offer, but it only took 5 minutes out of their day to decide if they wanted to do it. In the end I drove 3 hours to pick up the car and rented a car one way to do it. Since I had some business there I will write the rental off. Cost @ $85.
My new Z had 20 miles and was perfect. I paid less than invoice because they screwed the tax and gave me 0.5% less.
New 2004 Daytona Blue Touring 6-spd black leather. Exactly the car I wanted.

xxlbeerz, it depends on which Z you bought. As far as I know, nothing changed on the Touring 6spd. The track has a different engine, and cloth seats are now hight adjustable. Color changes and option changes per model is the other change.
I was offered a black track at $100 over invoice but I don't fit well in the 2004 cloth seats well since I'm 6'4".
