Thumbs down Check out my new unwanted mod!

I hate it, it doesn't blend with the car, i think I should have just left it alone:

Backed out of a parking spot, i thought the SUV had passed by, but he was actually passing by to park quick-dip, so i hit his bumper.
At least it didn't mess my rear tailights, i just wished it would have only hit my rear bumper since that would be easier to replace.

Well, time to hit the body shop.

Anyone know what it will roughly cost me? Pretty much fix the rear fender and replace the bumper?

Always painful to see a damaged Z (especially Redline ) Sorry to see it. Probably a couple grand to fix.

I had the same exact amount of damage done to me by a hit and run driver.

I got quotes between $325 and $1055... so SHOP AROUND! The only difference is that you have a larger dent in your rear fender - mine was smaller.

Not to mention - if you hit the guy, you might as well claim deductible for you anyhow - your rates are going up no matter what.

I was bumped from behind and had to have my bumper replaced and a wrinkle similar to yours repaired. The final bill was $1,500.

Be sure the body shop checks the bumper reinforcement and the bumper bar beneath the bumper cover.

Also be sure the body shop checks your frame. A bump in this spot and at this angle resulted in a slightly bent frame on my car.

The unpainted bumper cover sells for $245.00

Good Luck

yeah, with 8 coats of zaino, i would have thought the other car would have just slid right by, guess not
and i was planning on washing/waxing it again this weekend...oh well, i guess it will have to wait. i just hope whoever repairs it can match the paint well.

Oh the ol' "backup into an SUV and dent your rear fender" mod, that was a bold move

Good luck though on getting that fixed, its painful to see body damage.

So i got a quote of $850 to get it fixed (read: not replaced), what do you guys think, does that sound reasonable?

Sorry Jun...

About the quote... if you can see examples or get testimonies of the shop's work (and provided that it is good), I would say it was rather reasonable... IMO.

Sorry to see the damage. I just cracked my front bumper (my fault) hitting a concrete wheel stop. Shop around. I was going to pay $653 with a well known shop. Went to a second lesser known shop and I'm now going to pay $366. Good luck.

It sounds reasonable but I would check on the repair as that rear bumper cannot be repaired, once the plastic is deformed it is done.

Searching around prices, i can get a new quarter panel and rear bumper for about $530 + shipping. Is it worth replacing the whole quarter panel?
