You lucky police werent called or saw you. You may have been cited. As for the insurance I dont know about the aftermarket parts but think they will only cover whats on a stock Z.

I don't think it matters about a police report but, Insurance cos never like to pay. Rise in premium probably assured. Also, if you have aftermarket rims, that might save them some cash. Believe it or not, the factory 18s cost $1438.00 each no tires included..........
:-(
p.s., Surprised at 140+/- views and only two replies? What up with that fellow members?

Unless you informed your insurance company of the modifications, they will most likely not pay for replacing or repairing your aftermarket parts.

The catch is, that if you DO tell them that you're installing body kits, superchargers, etc., they raise your premium or cancel your policy.

Get a quote on how much it will cost to fix or replace the parts you damaged. Then make an educated decision on whether to submit a claim to your insurance company. Keep in mind that you probably have a deductible.

Good luck. And drive more carfuly next time.

thats what i was thinking about the aftermarket parts..some are even cheaper than the stock ones...but im scared that they might say that we arnt paying for anythign cause thats not what is supposed to be on teh car
i guess ill just have to find out for myself

No police report is required, simply tell the insurance company what happened. Your insurance premium will increase for the next policy period, most insurance companies view this as an at-fault accident.

As for the aftermarket parts, more than likely they will only pay for the stock pieces, unless you stated in your insurance policy all the extra parts you wanted to insure, before this accident.

In the end all you should have to pay for is your collision deductible and thats it.

Sorry to hear that great looking Z in your sig is damaged, pm me if you need more info on what to do or how to handle this. Oh by the way I used to work for a insurance company.

Just turn in a claim describing the damage. The insurance company will pay it (don't know about aftermarket stuff).

I have triple A and, when we've had an accident, (I've never had one but my wife & boys have had 4 over 24 years), I just take the car to an AAA approved body shop and have the shop prepare & estimate for triple A.

Yes, your rates will go up but your car should be good as new.

If that is your amount, I would pay out of pocket. Its better to save it for a big emergency. Just incase you are involved in a worse accident. Cause a claim is a claim.

Some insurance agencies have a spending limit without your premium going up when you claim. Maybe you can asked them if you take some of the cost of repairs, how much can they put in without increasing your payments.

I am no 350z expert, but I am pretty sure that you have no front axle. (350z's are RWD after all)

Depending on damage, any part of the suspension could be completely ruined though. I would definitely have it looked; don't jsut replace cosmetics.
