Just to let you all know, most insurance companies will cover A/M parts up to a certain dollar amount. After that, you are suppose to carry CPAE (custom parts & equipment) coverage. They usually offer it in $1000 increments.

I'm a claims adjuster for Progressive & we will cover up to $1000 in additional parts. You have to purchase additional coverage for anything above that amount.

Read your policy language, I'm sure it will clearly define what is covered.

ok..but how do they determine that?

supposed its cheaper to replace my aftermarket wheel than it would have been had i destroyed my stock wheel...

do they still count the aftermarket wheel as additional parts?

It's called indemnification. They owe to put you in the same position you were in before the accident (providing you have the appropriate coverages).

That's a good question about the wheel. To be honest with you, I'm not sure. I don't run across situations like this too often. I believe they do count it as an additional part. You may want to give your insurance company a call just to make sure.

i actually had something similar happen. if you took out a curb most likely you bent control arms, the spindle etc. There's a whole lot of aluminum components down there and the z doesnt respond well from going over curbs. i replaced a good chunk of the suspension components amongst other things from going over a curb. Good luck with everything and you might try www.everythingnissan.com for parts, could possibly save you some money.
