Got mine Aug '02 and its ding free. The dealership put a ding in the drivers quarter panel during servicing, but actually pointed it out to me, apologized and fixed it (for free of course).

Everytime I take the car in, the service writer walks around the car, and I make a point of mentioning that the car is over 2 years old and has no dings. Its enough for them to take extra special care of it because they know I'll be checking.

 

Was ding free for for 18 months now one small ding in the front passenger fender with some nicks up front, the Max has one small ding on drivers side and it remained ding free for about 20 months with a few nicks up front as well. Both purchased Jan 6th 03.

 

I park so far away from the front door of wherever I am going that nobody even wants to park there. I'm just afraid what I'll do in a month or so when our busy season starts up and all the snowbirds come back.

Once I saw a BMW Z8 Alpina that had those boat dock fenders hanging off the front and back while it was parallel parked. Good idea. I'm thinking how I can adapt this idea for when I gotta park in the school lot.

No dings after 20 months, but a few rock chips on the front bumper.

 

I have a few of those chips too...I hate them. I had like 2 within a week of getting the car!!!
