Did you get cross drilled rotors, or you actually cross drilled them. If you cross drilled the stock ones, how much would that cost one of us to get done?

i dont know much about brake systems, but cross-drilling the factory rotors just doesnt sound right. i would think that there is more to cross drilled rotors than just putting holes in any rotor.

Yep, you're correct. X-drilling the stock rotors only ruins the structural integrity of the rotor. Once those rotors get hot in the wet or in the freezing temperatures, they will crack.

We have conducted extensive test on stock rotors, maxima, altima and pathfinder stock disc's

we have never seen cracking..

one of our maxima's has 30,000 miles on them..

We use the Stock rotors with no miles on them, we have templates and we have our speed shop drill them...

cost is about 120.00 to 200 per rotor.

Drilling rotors is one of the worst things you can do. The main reason is that you lose a lot contact area between the pad and the rotor and surface area used to dissipate heat to air. And yes structural rigidity is compromised. On the track or even on the street, failed brakes can cost you your life, not just $120-200

What about cryo treated cross-drilled rotors like Porterfield offers?

By the way, I'd think that if the drilling was done properly, it would INCREASE integrity by allowing flex, etc. But I'm not sure about extreme temperature changes, so I wondered about the cryo-treated rotors. I had them on my VR-4 for over a year and they were terrific.

What is the supposed benefit of cross drilled rotors anyway?

Cross drilled rotors break. It's better to have just slotted rotors.
