Interesting outcome to my dilemna, cracked crankshaft pulley and a busted seal......
After the dealer did some searching, they discovered my oil leak was coming from the crankshaft seal, and that the crank pulley was wobbling a bit, and upon its removal, that it was cracked.
They told me it had nothing to do with the fact that the other dealer had over filled the oil.
I was also told that everything was fine with the motor.
I expressed my concern about the pulley causing wear on the bearings as a result of the wobble, but they tried to assure me it was fine, and stated that if anything ever did happen, it was documented, and would be covered.
Everything, except the oil change, was done under warranty, and I got my car back today, after 5 days without it.
Its runs great, so hopefully this is behind me now.
Oh yeah, I asked them about front tire noise at 50+, which started about 500 miles ago, at 8,500 miles, and is starting to get a little more noticable.
Well, you guessed it, the infamous feathering. Right now they tell me that Nissan has not acknowledged the problem with the 04's, and that they were just rotating the tires, after dismounting and mounting them.
I have a feeling they will be giving me some tires, as I highly doubt rotating them is going to fix the problem.
Oh well.
