Default anyone keep their Zs outdoors?

I'm currently renting from my parents and have a garage I store my 350Z in. However, I'm searching for a house in this genral area and welp... cant find crap! most places with garages are 300K unless I go way out of the country.........

However I can pick up a rather nice townhouse with no garage for 130-200K.

I have 19" Hiros on my car and as things go even with having a garage I wash the car once to twice a week! I can't even think about how bad it would be with out a garage. So if I were to buy a house with out a garage I'm pondering selling the Z and buying something I could care less about maybe an older 240SX and turbo it or another engine swap/turboed civic..

Sigh I love my 350Z I hate the idea of selling it =`(

anyways who here does NOT have a garage?

A lot of people. I street park (parallel park) in Boston. You need to realize your car can survive - albeit with a few dings and dents here and there without the protection of a garage.

If you can't shake the paranoid - a huge ulcer will result. I'll had it in crappy Boston for 6 months - no door dings, 1 SMALL bumper scrap, and 1 $hitty hit and run.

The hit and run really cured me now that my Z is not a virgin. What helps is there are $40k+ cars in the same situation as me so I don't get so bent up over the $28k Z.

Default Where are your priorities?

A Z is like a spouse except that it costs less and has sexier curves! If anything you should pick your house based on how it accomodates your Z!

where in MD do you live, i think if you're worried about your wheels getting jacked, it definatly matters where you live. One of my buddies got his crappy "upgraded" wheels stolen in Columbia. But my other friend with a G and milanos parks his car outside his apartment and nothing's happened to his wheels. Althought some woman did back her car into his fiberglass bumper. But she paid for it so no biggie there.

I've had mine for over a year. It has almost never been in the garage. I'm still living with my parents so they get the garage spaces. I have a car cover though. It isn't a ferrari, it will be just fine outside.

if the paint is fading, it's way past the time to buy a new car...

I decided instead of parking her on the street, that I’d invent my own parking area, and tuck her in, around, behind the building.

I chatted with the landlord about it, and he said it was cool. Feels a little less exposed there. Walking out in the morning, and seeing her all cold, and leaves all over… it still hurts though…

i have my z stored in my garage. i use it as my commuting car, so when i'm at work its outside. i dont think its a big deal unless u live near an industrial area/park because of the acidity in the rain....

You should get your wheel insured just in case some @$$ will steal them, it also depends in what part of MD you live in. I would get a townhouse with a garage or a condo with a garage. You need to protect your investment. I'm over protective when it comes to my own personal items. I could care less about others. Just IMO.

I dont live somewhere where I have to worry about getting my wheels stolen. I'm also getting wheel locks to help avoid that. I just want to say, i didn't mean the Z doesn't deserve a garage, if you can find a place you like with a garage, do it. I just wouldn't get rid of a car because I couldn't keep it garaged.

Underground, heated, secure parking with reserved spot and an OEM cover on....mmm...peace of mind.

Seriously, I would worry too much putting it on the street (I live downtown)...especially when the snow plows start coming around!

Getting rid of the Z because you don't have a garage? Come on are you serious?

Wow if that is the truth then you really must not like your Z that much.....

Come on it is just a car. I parked mine on the street at college for a year and it would get REALLY dirty sitting on the side of the road, that just made washing it all the better.

I have a garage now and it doesn't affect how much I love the car it just means I dont have to wash it as much.

I just don't see how the garage issue could change your mind about driving a 350Z?

I park mine on the street in front of my place. At first you have to get used to the water splashes from puddles, snow (us notherners), and bird crap. After which youll come to the conclusion that is just a car, and in order to enjoy it, you have to take the good with the bads.

Leaving my car in the street = $6 and 15 min's at the Self Car Wash using a power sprayer... Simple yet effective.

Yeah, the bird crap is pretty annoying haha. Almost everyday a bird manages to target a new spot on my car.

My Z is always parked in my garage.. If you buy the townhouse and have to park it outside just get a oem car cover.. only take a couple seconds to put on and it will keep the elements from hitting it..
