Interesting 0-60 tidbit from C&D

Interesting 0-60 tidbit from C&D
Apologies in advance for starting another bit about the 0-60 issue, but I heard something on Car & Driver Television this morning that caught my ear.
They were performing a performance review of the Mercedes AMG SLK. An absolute monster of a little car with 349 HP. They said Mercedes told them that the car would do 0-60 in 5.2 seconds. Well, Car and Driver did it in 4.5.
Now 5.5 for the Z is fine with me, and I don't think any driver will be able to shave .7 seconds off of that time, but it does make me think that the 5.5 could be a little conservative.

Here in Dallas, I use to watch Motor Week every Sunday at 12:30, but they cut it a couple of months ago for some damn reason!
And I also have SpeedVision, but they are so sporadic with their "Car Magazine" shows I don't even know what exact day and times to catch them???

C&D
Car & Driver is really good about getting fast 0-60 times out of cars. Their times are always lower than general purpose reviews like Edmunds and Carpoint because the C&D folks abuse the car to get the results (dropping the clutch etc.)
