yes this is possible. You had to understand though that this isn't "a new throttle body." Induvidual throttle bodies are just that; individual per cylinder, meaning instead of one throttle body like is in the car now, the car will have 6 throttle bodies, one per cylinder. This can and will significantly increase horsepower and torque. The question in...how much are you willing to pay for that increase. 40hp is a lot, but is it worth a few thousand dollars?

Not going to work with the stock ECU, as we have to read from a MAF.

ITBs use a MAP sensor.

My old E46 M3 had a MAF. On the intake tube before the 6 individual throttles.

I was saving this for a rainy day, but since the topic of Individual Throttle Bodies came up again, I should probably post this.

Here's a sound clip of the Tommy Kaira ITB:

That sounds amazing!! I converted to ITB's on my old 20v 4AG, it was good for about 15hp on that setup with much better driveability! (about as good as you can get out of a 1.6l high strung 4cyl with lopy cams )

I would love to do something like this on the VQ, but as mentioned above cost of parts and tuning may be more than most will go for

the ITB's matched with Crawford's new 300rwhp kit would be awesome. should be good for about 320 or so hp. what do you guys think?

and what about filtration with the kit? do theose little pieces of foam really filter anything at all? and what about engine life from thsi mod? any adverse effects?

but from looking at the pics of the TK ITB, there is no intake tube at all, thus no MAF to attach for it. i agree this setup would nto work with out ECU and just be a waste of money. if they can figure out how to make it work with our ECU, then maybe this would be a good deal, the soundclip sounds mean as heck

I believe 40HP quote was for the Toda ITB's. There US distributor is:
AKH Trading/Toda Racing USA 714-327-0181

Not sure about the total increase for the complete Tommy Kaira package, which includes the ITB's, headers, high flow cats, exhaust, ECU/computer re-tune, cams, etc... IIRC they claimed ~ 315ps at the crank.

I remember seeing the car reviewed in a Japanese magazine it got a lot of praise for the linear driveability, and great sound. Not your best bang for buck for pure HP.
