This is almost exactly what Nissan showed me. Notice it matches my original post exactly.

I love it! Notice the boomerang shape I refered to-- anyway, I'm definitely considering one in 2010 after the first model year.

can I just pull you up on that?!! You said the rears were boomerang shaped, not the fronts in your original post, seems to be quite broad in your explanation, then adapting it to suit pics which have been found! Hope you're right though, but sorry, I have my doubts still!!

Before people start flipping out, that is a photoshop, though one of the better (less fake looking) ones. The tail lights don't match the spy shots at all. Look for yourself, everyone before posting some stupid reply to this pic.

read from the start, proteus has been talking about the fronts for the last few pages, only mentioned the rears at the start!! Bit too fuzzy for me! That pic you posted is a chop anyway!!

I just hope all these Japanese magazines wold stop posting these hideous photoshops and claiming them as the Z34. I understand these renderings sell magazines, it's just hard to get excited when what they publish aren't appealing IMO. Perhaps a couple of these renderings might be close to the real thing.

Honestly, considering the direction Nissan/Infiniti has been heading with their cars, I'm starting to become a little skeptical about the new Z. The new Murano, FX, EX, Maxima, Altima coupe(rear), etc IMHO don't look all that great. They look to me like they tried TOO hard to differentiate themselves, & that they lost sight of making a nice vehicle. I guess time will tell. Just my .02.

I don't know...after looking at the boomerang lights and all and imagining it in real life, the look is sort of starting to grow on me. That blurred rear end a few posts above looks decent too.

I'll have to wait till I see it in person though...looking at all these photoshops I'm still hovering between liking it and loathing it.

The Murano and new Maxima look much better than they use to be, especially the Murano!

Ehhh. I think the new Murano is ***.... The new Maxima I like. I just hope the new Z isn't THAT hot since I just bought mine. Be a shame to trade it in already lol.

I would be surprised since the side profile is so changed and the rear window shape is so different you would think he'd have mentioned that.

Meh, even if he was telling the truth (which to be honest I don't believe he was), the information he gave was vague at best. With the headlights as distinctive as they are in the pic released earlier today, you would think that he would have at least attempted to describe their shape as being a reverse L-shape design as headlights are one of the major defining design elements of a vehicle. Instead he simply states that they are "distinctive." No s**t Sherlock.

Besides, according to the OP:

When you don't know the difference between a sway bar and a strut tower brace, it sort of speaks out against your credibility. Perhaps that's why you were chosen for this "focus group." Because you truly have no idea what you're looking at, or how to convey it to your peers via the intarweb and the English language. Sway bar a strut tower brace is NOT.
