Will you get the first year production 370Z?

I wouldn't mind looking into a convertible after a few more years. However, I don't ever really want to trade my Z in though. I've a lot of sentiment invested in my car and I do have some plans for it in the future.
If I'm fortunate enough to afford a 370 when it unveils, maybe I'll turn my '07 into a "trackstar?!"

I have been saving money up for the 370z, I don't see why I wouldn't buy it in the first year. I would feel more comfortable to buy it when they continue the model from 350z to 370z in consecutive years rather than drop the production, wait a few years and bring it back.
Same platform, like G35 Coupe to G37, if the first year G37 hasn't turned up any big problems, I would also feel comfortable getting the 370z first year.
At least that's my thinking, maybe it doesn't make sense to some of you but I am sure someone out there feels the similar way like I do.

Always loved the Z cars, but they're just too underpowered for me. My 2003 was great after installing an APS TT kit, so it will depend what power upgrades will be available and what they do with the styling.
I'm upgrading my '07 C6 with a 620 HP Callaway package in a couple of weeks, so a 370Z convertible might be a fun second sports car for my wife....not sure I want her driving the Vette anymore after the upgrade. I'm amazed by the staggering performance of the GTR, but nothing that ugly will ever darken my driveway. Gotta give Nissan credit though....that car will embarrass most cars costing five times as much.

the only things i could see going wrong with the 370z in the first model year would be suspension and minor electronics. nissan has been tinkering and Slowly(way too slowly) working out the Z33 bugs. the Z34 shouldn't have many major problems, i suspect the Z34 will have more agressive cams, a more agressive map, some intake tuning, and possibly exhaust tuning. although the G37 exhaust is very good from the factory as well as the twin intakes on the HR engines. the Z34 will most likly end up being another E46 M3. quick car, but hard to get power out of. most people will just do a high flow exhaust and tune and spend the rest on suspension and aero.
on another note i noticed some people were concerned about the Shorter wheel base. I have a Z32 coupe. it has a wheel base of 96 inches which makes for an agile responsive car, although it does have snap oversteer when you go over the limit i prefer it that way. and there is still alot of room for people and things, i've fit a 21x8x12 portable garage in my hatch.
i might go about getting if i don't have a faster car beforehand.

I'll decide when they release all details for the car. As for a Nismo version? Dont think I can wait 5+ years (if the current one is anything to go by)
Look at the bright side... The 370's gonna have that same problem.

if it is $35k base then I just can't see myself putting the money out there
$30k base and we are in talks, if not i'll keep my 07 but i'm pretty impulsive so I could just be talking out my *** and i'll be down the Nissan dealership within the first couple weeks

Considering that I have a 2006 model with 11k miles
I am not going to jump the ship with the first batch, I am definitely going to test drive one. Not really fond of the head lights but I am probably going to jump the ship with the 2009.5 model.

For people worried about bugs;
Do you think it is of significance that Nissan hadn't built a sports car since 1996 when the 350Z rolled out and hence it's glitches? Will Nissan have learned from the production of the 350Z and apply that to the production of the relatively similar 370Z. Especially given the recent production of the 350Z and G37?

It depends on if Nissan decided to use different vendors for parts in an effort to keep the cost as low as possible. If they did, it does not matter what they did in the past as a new vendor COULD mean a different crop of problems....
Guess we will see...
