I'm worried about pricing for aftermarket parts on higher priced cars too, one the parts will be priced higher, and two I don't know if I'd really want to modify a car too much that I paid 40k+ for. As much as I'd love to see an infiniti 1 series fighter, I think its hard to compete with a 135i that I can get 380 hp out of with a chip.

Sorry, but the Azeal concept grew two doors and became the Sentra. It wasn't even RWD.

We will likely see the "250SX" at one of the upcoming auto shows at the end of the year.

True statement, but be ready to loose your warranty right away. Also, keep in mind the cost of service/repairs on a Bimmer (especially with the Euro to dollar conversion)!!!

Those nifty BMW guys have schemed a way to tell if you modify your engine at all. Guess you could do Dinan... But then you will really be paying $!!

Nissan points out that the 2009 is $400 less than the 2008 equiped with the same options, if I read this article correctly. If what Nissan has been saying all along is to be true, the new Z may be a little more expensive, but will have a lot more to offer in it's base form.

For the 35k base price and roughly 40k for a nicely equipped next gen Z it better have near 400hp. Nissan needs to think outside of Japan. I mean true, from Japan Nissan right now is the clear leader in sports cars considering toyota has none, Honda only has the S2000, Mazda has the crappy RX-8. Subaru and Mitsu have decent cars but they are too high priced and really aren't selling considering the meger 300hp they have. When you start to reach that 40k price range you better have something that can compete with the Vette, the new camaro, challenger, etc. I know hp isn't everything but for the average consumer it's a big thing. As for the infinity, the BMW 135i is a killer car that right now kicks the every lasting crap out of the G37, so I don't know how they intend to bring a "baby G37" out to compete with the 1-series when the regular G37 can't.

The fact is that in the price range that they are aiming for there are better cars out there. Now if you are right and they keep the price of the Z more or less where it's at then I think thats a good thing but considering what other companies have done from Japan recently with price and what we've heard already about the Z it doesn't look good
I don't even know why your comparing the G37 with the one series. The G37 wasn't built to compete with the 1 series, it competes with the 3 series. Yeah the 1 series might kick its *** but then again it's like C&D compared the M3 to the 911 turbo and GTR...WHY? Wait..cause they can and I don't care that the GTR lost and so did the porsche but my god it's in a different category.

I'm guessing the price range is going to be up but not around the 40k mark except for the markup when it first comes out. I agree with your HP comment but if they get the Z down to 3000lbs and have 350hp it's going to be plenty fun. I have a FD that weighs in around 2820 with only 250hp and its quite a bit more fun then my Z..I just hope these new Z's will be a little more friendly to mods.

Dude.. Even if the Z has 330 HP, with a 3000 weigh in it will STILL be a blast!!

I have fun with my 3000 pound, 232 HP RX8. I am sure the Z will blow it away with about 100 more HP. If it has 350 or you can easily mod it to 350 'Game On'.

wait, why would it be under concepts on the Nissan website and have a 2.5 when the sentra has the 2.0?

If you are asking why the new Silvia/SX replacement would possibly have a 2.5 while the Azeal has a 2.0, then you just answered your own question: the Azeal is the 2008 Sentra, not the new Silvia. If you are wondering why the Azeal is still listed under Nissan's 'concept' page, that's because it is still a concept, even years after it was created (2006) and the car that was based on it is already out (2008 Sentra). The Azeal is completely unrelated to the car I'm talking about.

I hope I didn't misunderstand your post.

(sigh).....dude, the sentra has a 2.0 while the azeal concept has the 2.5. But again since you work at Nissan Corp in JPN I guess you'd know better huh?
