LOL...Context my brotha Context and thorough reading on your part would have revealed that this is wishful thinking on my part to give Porsche terminal sickness throughout there product line. I was marely fleshing out my wishes if I were the head of Nissan. This was a wish list not what reality will be like. Check out my first post.

The GT3 is not in league with the GTR as the GTR just owns it. So why not let the 370 take it on with the 400hp Nismo motor. Ah just wishful thinking. Id pay 40k for such a Z.
Believe me I know such a Z would be way more than 40k but I am wishing here This lead to me clarifying what my vision was in the post that you commented on. I cant stress enough as I said in this same post that it was "WISHFUL THINKING"......

Just to clarify my thinking.

1. GTR/Vspec will do battle with the Turbo Porsches GT2/TT respectively.

2. 370z/Nismo Z does battle with the na Carreras/GT3 respectively.

3. The new rwd entry level coupe they are talking about[Silvia/240 replacement]? does battle with the Cayman/Cayman S.

Nissan would be terminal cancer on Porsches anus with that scenario. Wishful thinking

The only consumer Nissan won't win are the Badge-conscious.

I'd expect a new Silvia to have figures similar to the RX8 to be honest.
You guys are missing the "wishful thinking" aspect of both my posts

Im firmly planted on terra firma Tell you the truth in reality I believe the 370z will be a canker sore to the Cayman/Boxster as the GTR is to the turbo 911 lineup. I was just trying to aim a specific Nissan model at the various specific Porsche models to really get after them. In my "wishful thinking" scenario I layed out the perfect, imho, attack on Porsche from top to bottom.

I dont see it .....
That didn't stop the heavier GT-R from destroying the 911TT on almost every magazine testings.

Also the Nismo Z already beat the Cayman S by over 1 sec on a track if memory serves so its should get raped by the 370z. If the GTR is any indication of what Nissan is capable of doing when it has Porsche in its sights Im pretty confident that the 370z will be beating the hell out of the Cayman S. Hell the heavier less powerful Nismo Z already did that.

The new g37 sedan did 13.8 versus 13.7 for the g35 sedan. Car and driver says the new g37 sedan weighs 120 lbs more and the engine was green. Once the engine is broken in 13.6 may be possible or not.

I was kind of hoping the 370z would be to the competition what the gtr is to the competition but the z shares the same engine, platform, and transmission with the g37 but may weigh 500ish less. So if the g37 does about 13.8 i don't think dropping the weight of the car by 500ish is going to make the car a low 13 sec car.

Please stop the fial.

'07-'08 Z's already run 13.1's and trap over 107. Why would they NOT run high 12's with MORE power and LESS weight?

It's true that there are two 07+ drivers who have documented 13.1 on my350z.com. I don't doubt that they have been able to drive their z that fast. But if you look at the 1/4 mile time list most drivers were not able to get those quick times.

https://my350z.com/forum/drag/233840...ons-stock.html

My point is that professional reviewers have got around 13.6ish out of the 350z. And i expect they will get around 13.3ish with the 370z. Yes there will be a small handful of owners that get high 12 with their 370z but i'm more interested in realistic times that the better than average driver will get.

I dont see it .....
The record for a bone stock C6 is 12.6@111mph - its very possible that a Z that weighs less and has 330hp can break 12's stock.

This RSX guy at a meet thought I was full of crap when I said I ran a 13.8 stock in my Z

That is very low number for a C6 and reflects a bad track, driver or car. The 08's are low 12's @ 116-118mph with one freak one hitting 120mph. The pre 430hp C6's were mid 12's like you stated but closer to 114-115mph. The 370z wont be doing those numbers bonestock. Wont be as far off as the current car is though imho with a very good driver.

A full bolt on 370Z may approach those number hopefully Im more exited to see if the 370z can hang with the C6 Z51 on a roadcourse than in a straightline. 2-3 secs off would be beautiful as opposed to 7-8secs now with the 350z as seen at VIR. Obviously the secs will be track dependant but you see where Im coming from.

Hey hey..... Let's not start with the AT stuff. It is thought that the 7AT will be slightly faster than the 6MT.

But I do agree with you.

If the 370z gets the dsg, then it's pretty much obvious that it will run high to mid 12's

GTR will always be a Nissan...
GT3 will always be a Porsche..Totally different level of automobiles in class and appearance...GTR/Nissan has many years of trying to develope their car and reputation to complete with a Porsche 911.

I think the 370Z IF the weight is kept down below 3100 pounds and the motor puts at LEAST 335 HP, I think it could be the "Bizzaro" of the Porsche Carrera's. It'll probably get the job done, just not as nicely or as pretty. But for less than 40K loaded with potential Carrera numbers....thats tempting.

My bad, I meant C5. It was a 2003 50th Anniv C5, stock tires, stock filter, stock tune, even the original oil from the factory.
