Default What would it take...

for you to upgrade...

For those of you who are still a bit if-y, I was wondering, what goodies would Nissan have to throw in the 370z, or a better way of asking, what would the the 370z have to BE for you to sell what you have now, and upgrade.

For me,
the performance figures going around are adequate, high 12s and a 4.9-5.1 is good with me and a targa top OR a not so high price as is being rumored and I'm sold.... call me easy?

Jerry, If you were to take note of the nay-sayers, those that say the 370z is ugly, how they won't drive one etc.. i'll give you a 2-3 year window and you'll see more than 1/2 of those people, if not 3/4 of them will in fact have eaten their words and be driving a 370z.

The exceptions would be those that rebuilt the engine completely, spent crazy money on their z etc. those that have relatively stock Z's though.... yeah, they're screwed, they'll be in the 370z posse before ya know it.

The 370z is lighter, faster, better in every way possible. yeah, they'll come around, whether they know it right now or not, that's another question. We're all Nissan ******, it's what we do.

See that's the thing I'm worried about. I just bought my 08 Z and I'm not sure if I like the headlight styling on the pics I've seen of the 370Z. But those are still all speculation right? And anyway I'd wait until at leas the third prosuction year to trade mine in.

I would lean more to the 370z if it comes with DCT transmission.

~400hp, ~3000lbs, <$40K, + paddle shifters, -- I'll do it.

High 12's quarter mile, better than Cayman S and 135i performance. I'm kind of tired of Japanese cars and their lack of bringing a true driving refinement to the table that Porsche and BMW have mastered. However, numbers speak loudly, and a 12 second car for the mid-30s that has independent rear suspension; can't argue that...

For me it'll be several factors:

My financial situation a year after it comes out (I refuse to purchase the first year model)
Performance - 12s achievable bone stock
Aftermarket support (I don't want to have to wait a year for an exhaust system)
Competition - I'll also be considering the Hyundai Genesis Coupe and possibly the new Camaro, among others. Again, depends on my financial situation.

Probably nothing, in my next car I want big displacement or forced induction from the factory.

So even if they offered a TT version of the 370Z you wouldn't get it?

For me, ummmm nothing would get me in a first, second, or third year model. I will wait for a mid-cycle refresh with better goodies like I did with my 06. I'm happy with my new(to me) 06 and don't see such a change with the 370. I WILL buy one though. I have owned nothing but Nissan since 1991.

There is a reason Pcars and bimmers cost more and no.. Its not "only" just because their overpriced or for the name.

Nothing to do with country of origin. You get what you pay for..performance doesn't come cheap. Hence why the NSX wasn't what most would call affordable.

Bring back the TT! I have a 300zxtt and I love it. I have a 350Z and I love it too. I will most likey buy the 370Z no matter what, but for the sake of Nissan I would love them to really stick it to the smug jokers at Porche and add fuel to the fire that the GTR started. Give us the car that enthusiasts deserve, at an affordable price (around $40K) and you will KILL! I'm all in regardless, I love Nissan.

IMO... I say offer a mid $30k base or std 370. But at the same time offer a $40k+ Nismo or some other high performance trim.

Mid $30,000???

Nissan must stay sub $32,000 or else they are into the price range of the C6 Corvette.

What would you get? C6 Z51 or a 370z?

C6 Z51 no doubt, awesome vehicle, undeniably the best value in any sports car. I addressed this same issue in great detail in that 10% price increase thread.

Mid $30k's is one the more popular speculative msrp's.

Just what we need...Another Vette vs Z, which is the better buy debate..

Not everyone buys a car on how fast they go or how many horses they put out..

Too answer your question... c6 or 370? 370...For the simple fact that I like Nissan Z cars and could care less if a C-whatever is faster.
