Default 370Z 6MT Transmission

I'm going to assume the 6MT transmission is a carry over from the G37, and I've heard mixed responses about it. Since I'm rarely around G37 forums, can anyone chime in about long term experiences with the late model G35/G37 transmissions?

I've only tested the '08 Z transmission, and the difference I notice from the '03 is that the clutch effort is much lighter (slightly numbing feeling since I'm not used to it). When quickly releasing the clutch pedal it feels a bit sticky like a delayed action, and that's what I'm getting as well. Except it's like there's almost 2" of free play with my clutch. The mags complain the G35 clutch action is a bit delayed or the feeling of an abrupt on/off engagement.

There are upgrades/modifications that will completely change the engagement characteristics/feel of the clutch. If you aren't into modifications, might I suggest the new 7 speed auto if you hate the clutch enough. The new autos are pretty nice, but I'm sticking with the old stir-stick.

Meh no auto for me. I prefer the manual no matter what. The only auto is with the '08 Accord, and it is also the only iVTEC as well ha!

The clutch action isn't much of a big deal compared to the clunky transmission, but hopefully it'll be better than the transmission replaced in '06.

It is only logical that they will throw in the 6MT of the G37 in the 370Z.

The new tranny feels more refined. Less clunks and noises, shifting feels just a tad more direct, and the clutch feel has completely changed. The only part I disliked of the G37 Coupe tranny was the awkward feel of the clutch. Though im sure I could get use to it.
