I agree. That is what I have been saying all along too. Nissan got this one right. They brought back some 240Z design cues and that is a wonderful thing. I wonder what took them so long. I wonder which studio/designer designed this?
Good question. The C6 is a tough act to follow, but I've already had two (roadster and coupe) and I get bored with a car after two or three years and want something different....and "different" does not always translate into "better."
I'm waiting for the prices of used AMV8's to drop even further, and that will probably be my next car. If I can't find one that's priced right by next summer, then a 370Z roadster will probably find it's way into my garage. I'll have to see how good the car looks in person at the LA Auto Show.

zsport1, is that your 240Z? If so, what is in it? I had two 240Z's, a "70" and "71". Had the L28 with TWM throttle bodies with individual runners, among other things. Mmm, can't wait for the 370Z to come out. Been a long time since I wanted a Z this much. There should be some nice after market goodies for it.
I don't think the 370z looks anything like the 240z except for the A pillar and the bottom outline of the side window.
The 240's roof and hatch is a curve, the 370's roof has a straight downward decline starting from the top of the A pillar until it meets the trunk. The 240 has no trunk, the slope ends at the end of the hatch.
The 240 has no bulging fenders.
The 370 looks pretty much like the 350 but with different headlight, taillight, bigger bulging fenders, shorter trunk, different side windows.
The 240z is one of the better looking vintage cars but i don't see much of it's dna in the 370z.

And plus for those people that don't like it, they should consider that a change was necessary if Nissan wants to sell the new z. Otherwise, people would've said "who cares, it looks just like a 350 but with more power or a lil better interior." So no matter what, they had to make some changes, right? I think we should be glad it's not a complete makeover, imagine a hatchback z (lmao) like the new Sti...LoL!
Yup.....and what I like about the new roof line is that without the curve at the top of the A pillar it looks less like the Audi TT roof line, which IMHO is a good thing. I do wish the bottom window line didn't droop down quite as much before curving back up. A less upright A pillar and a smaller side window would have have made the car look even more aggressive like the AMV8:

Anyway, the first thing I said when I say the 370Z was, wow, it reminds me of the 240Z, my brother had the same first reaction. We are not the only ones who thinks this. Just read the forum posts and car magazines. That photo of the 370Z at the gas station really reminds me of the 240Z I had, which was lowered and had fat low profile tires. It had the similar body lines when looking at it from that angle too.
