Similar angle and focal length
Depends. An all original 240Z in excallent shape can easily go for well over $10K+. One in good condition $6K, $7K. All depends on the car really.
I have owned two 240Z's, my brother one and my father one. I used to just look at every body panel from every angle on the 240Z, over and over. Yes, I was a little obsessed but hey, I was (am) a big time fan of the Z. I have been following Z's since my father took me on a high speed drive in his 240Z on the highway as a young kid. He told me, "son, you' need to have one of these". :-)
Anyway, the first thing I said when I say the 370Z was, wow, it reminds me of the 240Z, my brother had the same first reaction. We are not the only ones who thinks this. Just read the forum posts and car magazines. That photo of the 370Z at the gas station really reminds me of the 240Z I had, which was lowered and had fat low profile tires. It had the similar body lines when looking at it from that angle too.

Yep, the interior in the 280Z was a little nicer than in the 240Z, the bumpers were a little larger too. I remember the hum the L series engines would make. You knew it was a Z coming or going just by that sound. And how everything up to the 280ZX was swappable down to the 240Z. Fun cars. I basically had a 280Z swapped into a 240Z chassis.
has anyone noticed the brakes on this particular 370z? they look massive, both rotors and calipers. this must be higher model compared to the one they tested on motortrend.

Remember how the C6 Vettes' performance came VERY close to the performance of the C5 Z06? Well, I bet the 370 will be VERY close if not better than the Z33 Nismo version (handling/breaking wise; it will obviously be faster).
Z:

ZX:

To modernize from the 350 they sharpened the angels, supposedly reduced weight, and added more power. In modernizing from the 240-280Z they softened the angles, increased the weight and sacrificed power.
It seems like 'progress' will be better this time around
