370Z vs Z4 pic
It's been three years since I have visited here. Bought an 03 350z that had many problems and lived in BFE where they had no clue how to work on a Z.
I now have an 06 G35 coupe with 6mt.
Now that I have qualified myself:

I have had a Z3M coupe with the 315 S54 motor and loved it. Was planning to get another till I saw the pics of the 370Z

I had the opportunity to drive the regular Z4 and I have to say I wasn't that impressed. It had enough HP to drive comfortably on the street but nothing I would brag to my friends about. I think M coupe is the way to go or the new 370Z

I agree on the Z4 but the Z3 coupes looked to me like it was copied from the
gorgeous older Jags. I will always want another one but between the bearing
issues of the S54's and the fact that the sub-frame assembly is tearing apart I figure a Z will be a God-send.

Z4 all the way, may look alike in the pictures but BMW's production quality and materials far surpass Nissan's. Not that I don't love my Z but the Datson's were German cars and I think that's why our cars are so great because they were based on very precise German philosophy which BMW definitely embodies. As for the 240 I fail to see a link to BMW as far as copieing the design, maybe the long hood of the z3 (or z1) but the Jag E type is a much better reference for this statement, so maybe you should say the the Z copied the Z copied the E.

Open your eyes or get glasses. The 240Z is the one that came out with the design of the long hood, the sloap rear end and the side profile. The E-Type looks nothing like a Z.
Everyone wanted to copy that design and several did including BMW.
61-74 E-Type years

69-71 1st Gen Z

I'd say, someone was copying off of someone else's paper

The exterior design of the Silvia 1600 is largely credited to Dr. Albrecht Graf von Goertz – a gentleman with experience at Porsche, BMW and Studebaker. Following the Silvia 1600’s US market flop, Mr von Goertz and Katayama were teamed up to work on a sports/GT vehicle that was built from the ground up to satisfy the American market. Yamaha also assisted with the project but, when development delays arose, Yamaha took what they had to rival Toyota... The vehicle that appeared soon after was the Toyota 2000GT, as pictured here (see Japan's first supercar for full details).

I don't think so. Z4 is waaaaay better looking.
