370Z Unveil in LA ***VIDEO inside!***
The red looks great but the blue...might be the lighting but it kind of reminds me of the BMW bubble gum found on M3s.
 I think I'll have to see it in person at Stillen to get a better feel for it.

Hey Guys,
Just got back from the 370Z reveal up in L.A. presented by Edmunds Inside Line! If you haven't watched the video yet, I highly suggest going here to see the cars in motion!
https://my350z.com/forum/2009-370z/3...eo-inside.html
First Impressions:
-The cars are VERY muscular in person and do not look out of proportion AT ALL - try to notice all the flares and bulges if you can but trust me, pictures do not do them justice!
-The 370Zs definitely pay homage to prior Zs: check out the picture of the Yellow 280Z with the Blue 370Z in the background that I took
-The headlights are super detailed and look GREAT - it's also pretty cool how the Z logo on the side lights up when you activate the turn signal!
-The interior has been upgraded dramatically material wise and seemingly offers more legroom and comfort:
The base 6 speed had a Sport Mode Toggle Button next to the shifter (rev matching button?), the silver cross bar in front of the luggage area, the 3 dial A/C controls (similar to the 350Z) and a stitched center storage compartment (seems a little smaller).
The 7-speed automatic had Metal Paddle Shifters, a BOSE subwoofer/amplifier in the trunk, heated seats, and the NAV system/console (similar to the 2009 Maxima) and a luggage cover in lieu of the silver crossbar.
Both cars had a real (albeit small) glove box in its proper place; storage areas behind the driver and passenger seat, a storage compartment behind the passenger seat, and two cup holders (one visible, one in the center console area that is expandable).
Here are some pictures that I took! I have more but I'm trying NOT to post pictures of the same stuff you've seen before!

The blue color reminds me of BMW's Lega Seca Blue, or "smurf blue"... I love the color, its definitely a love or hate color and I think it looks great on the Z.
Overall, I love the entire car. Looks like a major improvement and I am hoping the performance wins me over when I test drive it. I think the worst part about the new Z is going to be choosing a color combo!
BTW, I only saw one picture of the Audi style LEDs in action and it wasnt so great. Would you happen to have any shots of the front headlight LEDs?

They did give away free T-shirts but they were white Edmunds T-shirts (not 370Z shirts) and free Edmunds key chains.
As far as the "LED lights", if you look at the album, you can see the pictures of the car with the all lights on. The 370Z doesn't have LED lights trailing down the perimeter of the front head lights - those 9 indentations are eye candy only!

The RAYs wheels were pretty awesome too!

Let me upload these pics and I'll come back later to give my impressions of the car.

EDIT:
Whew! What a day. Due to the wildfires around Los Angeles, the traffic was terrible. A trip that should have taken me a little over an hour took 3-1/2 hours just to get there! Then another 2 hours home. I was a little rushed to get back home, since I'm in an area prone to wildfires, so the pictures aren't my best work. We'll just have to muddle through.
Let me preface this by saying that I don't own a 350Z, so I'm not as partial as many of you. I've got no dawg in this fight. For me, it's come down to either this car or a used Cayman S - MAYBE a used 911 Carrera. It all depends on how the 370Z performs.
I just think the entire design of the 370Z is very happening. For me, it just works. Personally, I think the taillights work better than the headlights, but that's just my taste. YMMV, and it likely will. Take my word for it, this is one happening little sports car. In spite of whatever negative conclusions you may have reached by looking at the previous pictures released by Nissan, this is a well proportioned and efficient design. It's obvious that Nissan is leaning heavily toward a "family" design language, drawing heavily from the 240Z heritage and the GT-R design statements. Thus, we have the ever-controversial headlights borrowed from the Maxima. When you see this car, there's no mistaking it for a Maxima Coupe, believe you me.
As far as fit and finish, I'd say this car is pretty darn close to a Caymans S with standard leather. Of course, Porsche's $3,000 full leather option is pretty fabulous, but an unfair comparison here. The new 370Z interior absolutely rocks! All the switchgear feels much more expensive than the 350Z. It just feels like they've taken their time putting this car together. I'm not a Nissan-oscenti, but it does not appear that the 370Z is a product drawn from the Nissan parts bin. These cars were not prototypes. To my eyes, these were pretty close to final production versions.
This red car just pops! The cloth interior appears to be a much heavier fabric than the 350Z. Big ol' brakes on this baby!
I'll add more comments later on.

Continued....
The car looks fantastic in this shade of blue. It was dark by the time I got there, so we just had artificial lighting and flash, and with the crowds it wasn't possible to sit and "take in" the design. I'll leave that for another day.
The black piece at the upper edge of the front end is curious. I wonder if it will look better in the body color. Will it be available in body color, Nissan?
Also, a new cottage industry has just developed to see who can come up with a cool way to disguise the headlights. I like them, but I overheard many comments to the contrary. The first genius who comes up with an inexpensive piece to slap over these should be able to put himself through grad school. Like I say, the headlights don't really bother me.

Continued 2....
The engine looks sweet. None of the cars were running, so I can't even vouch for how they sound. The triangulated strut tower brace looks to be quite effective. The front rotors look huge and quite capable. If they can pull the car to a stop from 60mph in around 112 feet without fade, they'll certainly be more than acceptable.
There were several GT-Rs there, but a couple left after only an hour or so.

Continued 3....
Sorry about the glare off the gauges. It's the best I could do under these circumstances. The center storage unit door no longer disappears into the dash. It just sticks straight out. Originally, I was thinking I'd install a portable GPS there, but having the door stick out like this would be kind funky. So I may be stuck getting the OEM GPS. The OEM GPS was in the AT car. Sorry, but I forgot to look for paddle shifters. I'm a MT kinda guy, so I wasn't looking for them.
The face plate for the head unit in picture 3 is approximately 7" across and 4" high. Is this a full double-din unit?
Like I said earlier, the fit and finish of the cars is top notch. I see no reason why these interiors should take a back seat to any of the other entry level sports cars out there. The Audi TT is still a notch above this one, but the new interior is miles above the old one in every way. The seats are quite comfortable and seem to have every imaginable means of adjustment. They look very similar to the 350Z's, but some have said the new headrests are larger. You be the judge.

Continued 4....
Finally, an efficient luggage compartment! About time!!! The black bar in the second photo is the recoiled fabric luggage screen. I show it extended in a later shot. The GPS looks very similar to the G37's. The two buttons just forward of the AT shifter are worth an explanation; the left is for the hazard lights and the right says "S Mode" I think. It appears to be the switch to turn off the traction control, I presume.

The second picture is the retracted luggage screen. The third picture is the extended luggage screen in place with the rear hatch open.
I like that shade of blue!
The cars were parked in a circle and you could get all over them, if you wanted to.
