Motor Trend: First look at 370Z. Nice real world photos.
I was almost ready to send my car to Lingenfelter for a power bump and then do the Z06 bodywork, but the cost ended up being ridiculous...easier to just buy a Z06. It will be interesting see just how cheap Z06's will be if GM goes belly up.
From the article..."Nissan hasn't yet set pricing for the 370Z, but it's expected to announce approximate base price of around $30,000, with fully optioned models hitting the mid-$40,000 range."
Several people have posted an "unofficial" base price of $29,900. If that's true and the above article is accurate, the sport touring model is going to be over $40K! That's a hell of a jump in price if you ask me.
I paid $30,800 for my Touring Z when I bought it in April 2006. To get a comparable 370, it looks like the price has increased roughly 33% in 2.5 years. That does not bode well.

I was actually doing some pricing on a Vette with a built motor and Z06 body. Just doing the engine work myself and not sending it to someone like Lingenfelter.
I kinda see the ferrari california lines in the 370z..not as good looking but similar imo

Now, the 2008 touring 350Z starts at $33,340 but a comparable option to the touring 370Z w/Sport package is the grand touring which starts at $36,740. Add Nav and automatic brings the total price to $39,540. So in actuality, the 370Z is cheaper, more powerful, lighter and have a better interior as well as features compared to the 2008 350Z GT.
Also, you stated you paid $30,800 for your touring but the 2006 350Z touring actually has a MSRP of $32,450 so it's a modest $450 price increase in MSRP for the better package of the 370Z touring at $32,900. So, the the 33% price increase over 2.5 years as you stated doesn't make sense because you can't compared a lightly optioned 2006 350Z touring to a fully loaded 2009 370Z touring (essentially a fully loaded 2006 Grand Touring).
