Is it just me or is the new 370z one of the ugliest cars ever?

umm... there's quite a difference in style. not sure if you've been looking at the same pics as everyone else. obviously it's the next generation z, but it's not like they did some subtle changes.

I've had a lot of critical things to say about the car. After seeing some of the videos from the Edmonds preview showing and LA photos, I've warmed to it a bit. But I must point out something that I think has a lot to do with this particular Z car being so controversial.
In all prior models, the car looked unique and unlike any of its predecessors. When I say that, I'm talking about the 2X0 series compared to the 300 series compared to the 3X0. It's obvious the 370 is a blend of the 2X0 and the 350 visually. I think this is why a lot of current and past Z owners are a little disappointed.
I've been impressed with the Z's history and anticipated the 370 would be an improved, more powerful version of the 350. That it would retain the same shape as the 350 just like the 240 went on to be the 260 and 280. Not until the 300 was released did an entirely different looking Z appear for the first time. So I figured the next "totally" new looking Z would probably not appear until hitting the 400 mark.
So the 370 is sort of hard to take in some ways. It's new but visually it's not really new...more like a mixed breed if you will. Nissan has never done this before as far as I know.

That's exactly why there are 350Z forums for those who hate the new 370Z.
Run along now and let those of us who think the 370Z rocks enjoy ourselves. We promise not to come over to your forum and bag on your tired looking and dated old 350Zs. We won't come down to the car wash and bother you while you're at work.

Is it just me or do the headlights of all the new nissans look like the older ones with a "photoshop smear?" I swear when I first saw the pics online, I thought it was a joke!
Oh well, I'll reserve final opinion til I see one in person...

The 350 has the same two boxes but they are not removeable. I used them to mount my laser jamming sensors and would probably do the same with the 370. In any case, the fangs are purely cosmetic.

Yes, the 370Z will go down in history of one of the ugliest cars ever produced! It ill be a huge flop for Nissan. No one will buy one. Great observation. I will be looking for your great insight in cars though out the forum.

its ugly get over it. I have seen shots from every angle of this car and wanted to like it due to lower weight and more power. I still think that a slightly restyled version will be released next production year, so I will be waiting to trade my 07 until then.

Ya the 370 will be a failure, I think NOT !
This is on MSN this morning:
http://autoshow.autos.msn.com/autosh...entid=13600255
The 370 is an evolution of the design of the 350. Both cars are great. Why slam the 350, why slam the 370?
I was glad to see they did not change the basic design. Porshe has evolved the 911 and you can see the constance of the design through the years.
The 370 will look awesome once we see start seeing them on the street and also see some personalization/customization of the areas the owners want to improve. I can't wait for that.

"its ugly get over it.". NewJerZ, you do realize I could say "its fabulous! get over it" and I have just as much credibility or lack of credibility as you? It is a matter of opinion not fact. Now, if we want to discuss facts that is cool, like it is lighter, smaller, more powerful and so forth.

The 370z after seeing all the chops will be a hit...I still don't like it. It could of been a whole lot better. Yet with growing safety rules, what we want we might not see.
