Default OK People...

First the weight:
Wait until the 370Z starts getting weighed at tracks. Almost always the scales at tracks read lower then what a manufacturer or magazine will quote. From my experience most cars come around 100lbs less at a track then what you see printed in the media. I guess the scales at a track are a little optimistic? This explains why so many of you have weighed your 350Zs in at around 100lbs less then the claimed weight.

Second the power:
I see a lot of people complaining about the power. IT ONLY GAINED .2L YET IT PICKED UP NEARLY 30 HORSEPOWER. If you expected much more then you were ignorant. This car will dyno around 60WHP MORE then a VQ35DE will. And just like the 350Z it will also likely see small bumps in power before the end of its production. Those of you who complain about only a small increase in torque need to understand this. Peak torque is very misleading. This engine will make more torque through out the ENTIRE RPM range then the VQ35....that extra 2 torque isnt whats giving the car more horsepower. For the 370Z to make 332HP at 7000RPMs then it needs 250TQ at that point, an HR 350Z is making less then 230TQ at that point in the RPMs. Thats 20 more ft lbs of torque, and this kind of torque discrepancy can be seen through out the entire RPM range.

Third the Cayman S comparisons:
The best performance stats for the Cayman S by a magazine were recorded by Road & Track. They achieved a 4.8 0-60 and a 13.3 @ 106 mph in the 1/4 mile. Most tests are averaging around a 5.1 0-60 and mid to high 13s in the 1/4. The 370Z hasnt even been released yet and Motor Trend has already achieved a 0-60 of 4.7 and a 1/4 mile of 13.3 @ 106. That means the 370Z has already matched the Cayman S's 1/4 mile time and speed and BEAT its 0-60 time, and it hasnt even hit show room floors yet! Early handling/braking tests also put it neck and neck with the Cayman S(braking better then the Cayman S so far).

1/4 mile speculation:
Already hitting a 106MPH trap speed(And will almost indefinetly achieve higher) it shows capable of a LOW 13 second HIGH 12 second 1/4 mile with the right conditions. I believe it should prove capable of as high as a 107-109+MPH trap going by what HR 350Zs have done, and a 107-109+MPH trap is enough to secure a mid-high 12 second run with a good driver. This safely puts the 370Z a half second quicker in the 1/4 and trapping 3-5MPH higher then a HR 350Z.

Sorry bored at work and needed to release some stored energy

Z34 was already weighed. 3370lbs is what it weighed at a truck scale.

instead of looking at magazine times for the cayman S look at Forum times.

im sure they'll be different .

the Z will get much better stats when you put on some less street friendly shocks and springs and some sticker tires like RE-01's, AD07's, comp level DOT tires like Pilot sport cups or Pzero Nero systems.

lower it a little bit, increase tire size to 295 rear and 265 front, take out 150lbs plus, do drivetrain mods and you'll have a Z that nissan should be producing in the first place. even at the increased cost of maybe 2-4k.
