I suspect you could have something similar tied to the brake like circuit so that the light illuminated (perhaps even pulsated) with the brake lights.
By the way, does anyone happen to know the theory behind the Euro rear fog light concept and/of if there is any evidence that it reduces rear-end collisions in foggy conditions (which is, I assume the intent)?

In dealing with the black bumper cover vs. the red lens needed, does anyone have any idea if the stock bulb/reflector/electrical connector is still in place or does the whole unit need added?
Strangely enough, I took a video of the underside of the rear bumper tonight at the follow the 370 event. IIRC the connector was there. I'll upload the vid clip tomorrow.

Keep in mind that the cars we are currently seeing in the U.S. may not be final production/fully U.S. spec vehicles; they might be but were I betting on it I'd say they weren't.
All that to say, if they aren't then you can't count 100% of the connector being there when they go on sale here.
