If you think having fun is not an acceptable reason, you should probably buy a mini-van or something. What's the whole reason you buy a sports car?

They're fun..period.

If for you having fun with your car means drag racing, road racing, autocross, rally, car shows, hard-parking, cruising for chicks, sprited drives to and from work, etc.....then that's awesome. You're buying your car to have fun with it. Isn't that what this is all about?

ahhh yeah... I'm gonna have to pass. Maybe I'll get a big aluminum wing on my ride too... and of course, some stickers for the added horsepower.
so F1, rally cars, 24 lemans and other form of automotive race don't change their tires during race and tune their suspension before race just go a little faster............ stop being dumb and ignorant.
oh and those stickers, they do add more horsepower. no sponsors, equals to very very very hard to manage a race team. unless you have millions to spare

^^^^ I thought the 370z was slightly lighter then the 350z... Why do you believe it needs even less weight??? Not trying to sound like a smart*** just not very familiar with the art of drifting is all..

Wow, a lot of retards in this thread that failed, yes, that's right kids, I said FAILED to answer what I asked. I especially liked the short bus captain that tried to compare drifting to F1, rally cars and 24 hrs LeMans cars. bahahaha Wake up skippy, comparing drifting to these is like saying the out dated Pontiac Sunfire is the same thing as a Nissan 350z. (not even remotely, but yes, they both have 4 wheels so yay, cookie is yours. gold star for your forehead.)

I understand drifting is fun, I even said that. Thanks for going over what I said. Captain obvious to the rescue.

What I said, was that to drift, you roast your tires and for what... to have fun? To go in a circle or swing left or right on occasion? Why not just adjust your brakes so you can do brake stands and roast your rear tires that way. At least you'd still have your front tires left.

No seriously, drifting is fun, I said that in my post, I am merely pointing out that the drifters that actually know what they're doing and drift often, generally go through tires quickly and sadly, are also usually the ricers that slap the stickers and add-ons to their cars.

These are the same clowns that usually do it on public streets as well. Yay Team!

Its not just roasting the tires you jack a$$ read the winki that I posted. Did you not read. Are you scared it will teach you something.?? Don't skip my post. So read GTFO of this thread. There is about 4 pages to read so grab a coke, some weed, beef jerky, and your reading glasses because there is a lot to cover in just that winki section.

hahahaha thx Captain Obvious. I think i pretty much stated I know what drifting is. Are you actually stupid or can you just not read what I wrote?

We have a winner! Exactly my point. Thank you r.evlineD_Z!

back to Captain Tardo though with his Wiki Fetish

Drifting is fun, not saying it's not at all, and I am certainly not saying the guy drifting that 370z doesn't have talent, he does. I mean, he's no Drift King but then neither are most people. heh.

Drifting kills tires. true or false? So for the normal person that drives their car normally, would you still suggest drifting as something that is smart and if so, how can you justify the expense?

Jesus, do I have to explain why your girlfriend left you to?

Here's a hint... it has to do with Wiki

^ dumb all racing coast a lot of money. So drifting goes through a lot of tires. NHRA Top fuel goes through 10X more money replacing engines. Does that make Them stupid and not a smart sport?HA you are one smart guy.

Wow, you are seriously a moron.

Usually people don't make it this easy, but you appear to have a special permit on your windshield so I'll be nice with you.

Read what I said. mk pumpkin? mk

Did you seriously try and bring up NHRA in this thread? I don't want to scroll up, are you same clown that brought up F1 and LeMans as well? Wow. Someone pass this guy a brain. Please.

NHRA is a professional sport, run by teams, not individuals *usually* and these teams are generally sponsored where they don't pick up the tab for parts etc, the sponsor does.

Drifting is something anybody with a copy of Fast And Furious can try. If you're talking about the professional level of drifting, that's awesome but that is NOT what I asked about is it? No. If you'd read, you'd see this but you're so eager to spout your intelligence that you keep missing what's in front of you. OMGOMG WIKI!! bahahaa

The typical person that enjoys drifting is who I am talking about. The normal person in this forum in fact that loves to throw his/her Z around a corner or three. Does it nuke tires in time? Yes or No. (easy one for you, I'd have made it a 'check this box' experience so your fragile mind could better grasp it, but the forum doesn't allow forms so you'll have to tackle it anyway, k sport?)

Is it pricey for Joe Blow to buy new tires because he was having "fun" on the weekend hauling around in circles? uhhhh.... Yeah.

YES IT IS FUN. I said that myself. I'm not a hater. I'm just saying for the average person, is drifting practical given the price of replacement tires? That's it. Not that hard.

NHRA. bahahahaha good one.

Happy Holidays, I hope Santa is bringing you a personality. haha j/k man, j/k. All in fun.

Drifting isn't practical.
Road Racing isn't practical.
Drag Racing isn't practical.
Building a show car isn't practical.

Buying a sports car isn't really practical. It's all about having fun and that's the point...the only point. Unless you're a pro driver, anything you do in your sports car is for the purpose of having fun and everyone does it in different ways. Sure, drifting may be more expensive than drag racing or something similar, but for many people it is much more enjoyable.

For most people, drifting isn't even an every day type of hobby and there are much more expensive hobbies than drifting.

I really don't understand why this is even an issue.
