08 vs 09 Pics Side by Side
The 350Z looks like its smiling with a square face V[____]V while the 370Z looks like S[_\__/_]S. Yeah, that's my artist interpretation. LOL!
I agree, it makes the 350 look dated. The back is like dayyyyyyym!

The 370 really shows how timeless the design of the 350 is. If you did'nt know any better it would be hard to tell which is the new design. The 370 looks like a rough concept that was scrapped in favor of the 350.
a girlfriend of mine said the exact same thing about the 350Z!
the 350z design is one that definatley "lasts", idk to me the 370 is a great looking, beautiful car but i like the look of the 350 a little more.350 front reminds of well...a 350,but 370z front reminds me of the 09 maxima, though it does look alot beefier than the 350..in a good way.

Here's the pricing for my area using USAA for BRAND NEW 2008 Z(which is Zag).
https://my350z.com/forum/buying-leasi...incentive.html
Base 6MT: $21409
Enthusiast 6MT: $22684
Touring 6MT: $25579
People who are trying to sell their car used will probably be left staring with their jaws hanging to the floor because they are going to be in disbelief about how fast their cars have depreciated.

However the Z34 is no more aerodynamic than the Z33. It does have a stiffer chassis though, which is the ONLY thing I like more than my 350z. OEM engine power means nothing, everything can be changed... except the chassis, which is why I see the increased rigidity as the only real big improvement.

If it had the 5.0 liter v8 from the Infiniti FX50, I'd be all over it. 390 HP, 369 tq!!! But the extra weight might kill the f/r balance of the 370.

I would say the 350Z is more of a "simple" and "safe" design with basic design elements, primarily arcs. If it is "timeless" we shall see. Personally, I was pleased at how long the 350Z kept its appeal then surprised at how quickly I lost interest in its design after seeing the 370Z in person. It almost made me wonder if the only "timeless" designs are from Europe and the older cars from the 70's and before, including the Japanese and American cars. The 370Z is more sculpted and therefore has greater risks but with greater risks comes the possibility for greater visual impact. They got away from the basic geometric design cues, consisting of simple arcs, and freed up their hand.

Okay, I finally saw the 370z up close and personal. I have also driven the new Z, a base touring in white pearl. Like most have already written here, I would like to add my comments about it’s styling and performance, as-well-as, make something of a comparo to the much beloved 350.
Pros – Styling
Not sure I love everything Nissan has done design wise, but, I do think it is evolutionary in some of the design themes.
1. Push button start.
2. Shorter length and wider track looks more aggressive and muscular.
3. Exterior styling is less abrasive in person, and lines are cleaner. Like most have already said it really does look better in person… Not great, just better than pics.
4. Interior ergonomics are a vast improvement over the 350’s hands down. Materials, layout, and tactile feel are very nice. (Although I do miss the 350 brace in the trunk – NOT)
5. The fangs are functional, even if it makes the car look like a catfish.
6. Audio system is also an improvement over the last generations base system. Couldn’t tell if it’s still a Bose radio though.
7. Steering had a tighter feel making the overall handling feel a nudge better over previous models.
Con – Performance
1. Like others have indicated, shifting from 1st and 2nd gear seems to grind way to easily. Shifting in my opinion is not as easy as in the 06 – 08 350 models. Matter of fact, just to be certain, I drove a base 08 350 to see if I were imagining things… I wasn’t.
2. Cabin noise seemed to be louder. When trying to talk to the sales guy riding with me, I felt as if I were screaming at him just to have a conversation. Again, when in the 08, cabin noise was at a minimum and conversation was much easier.
3. Even though hp has been pushed to over 330 it still didn’t seem like there was much difference between it and the 08.
4. Weight felt the same; maybe even a few pounds heavier although it’s suppose to be lighter.
While price point was only a few dollars more for the 09, (35K+) I would probably go with an 08 because of the incentives the dealer is offering and there not being enough change performance wise to pay the extra coin for an underwhelming performer with so, so looks and sex appeal. I like it, I’m just not ga, ga over it.
My sales guy says I could walk out the door with a 08 for around $26,500. Which may be the better deal overall, this way I can wait for a couple of years for Nissan to make any changes their going to make between now and 2011 and to get all the bugs worked out.
I previously owned a 05 and 06 base 350z and enjoyed both cars tremendously. However, traded my 06 for a Volvo for the ball and chain. She’s happy, but this is why I’m now looking at getting the 08 or 09.
