Default 370Z Programming Navi while moving

KPtechnologies (www.KPtechnologies.com) is currently looking for a tester for our NI35.

The NI35 allows you to enter addresses while moving, access complete phone book info while moving, and have complete control of the Music Box system while moving. The NI35 eliminates the "graying out" of all options on the screen while the vehicle is moving.

PLEASE NOTE - this module will NOT allow video to be displayed while moving - this is for legal and liability reasons. KPtechnolgies does NOT support nor condone modifying any system to allow video to be displayed while moving.

The NI35 will also process the "OK" screen each time you start the car up.

This module has been tested and confirmed to work on a variety of Nissan / Infiniti vehicles and we would like to check the 370Z off our list. Also, if anyone is interested in testing any of the other KPtechnologies modules contact me for more information.

Thank you,

It can only void the warranty if the dealership can prove that the module caused whatever fault is at hand. We have never had a customer report to us that they were denied warranty service after installing one of our products. We have had customers contact us regarding failures with the media center after the NI35 was installed and their dealer fixed their problems under warranty.

We are capable and willing to work with any customer to deal with any issues that may arrise - this includes dealing with service managers and whomever else to get what is fair.

What's the point when the nav and other vehicle elctronics in the 370z support voice-activated browsing.

If the voice activation in the 370Z is anything like in other cars there will be a very big need.

Because in every state we've researched it is illegal to watch video on a screen within the drivers view. However, currently we have yet to come across a state that prohibits the use of navigation functions or vehicular conrols on a video screen.

Our theory on it is if we sell a product that allows video to be displayed and the driver of the car hits another vehicle head on we don't want to be liable for the injuries to the people in the other car (or the car that cause the accident for that matter).

For the people that want to enable video while driving they are on their own - nothing "special" is needed, you just need to know what you are doing.

Any chance you can integrate video (rear camera) so that it turns on automatically when the car is put into reverse? I guess I am asking a little too much here

Doesn't it already do that? I know the other vehicles I've played with have integrated back up cameras that automatically switch on when placed in to reverse.

If the new Z doesn't have that feature I personally wouldn't be opposed to doing that as that wouldn't be "illegal" and is actually a nice safety feature that all vehicles should have.

Ok, I have played with the NAV, and Sat Radio and IPOD extensively and I have never had to stop to get it to do anything. Everything works perfectly. You are right to say...if this works like other cars......I tried the other cars voice activation stuff and it really sucked compared to the Z. Just a little bonus in this car as I would have bought it regardless. I do not believe there is a market for your product on this car based on what you wrote.

HOWEVER<---And this is a big However. EVERYONE will want to replace that stupid dash clock with a digitial speedo. I'll bet you money Nissan puts one in somehwere in 2010. Where can I buy that module.....money burning a whole in my pocket!

Also, interested in a backup cam. I might do this myself. But would buy a plug and play type solution. The car already supports video on the nav screen and has 3 RCA jacks in the center console compartment....oh and yes,....it works! So this should be very easy to fabricate.

So the '09 Z navi system allows full operation/programming while moving? If that's true I can see a lot of other Nissan owners trying to retrofit the Z navi in to their cars to get past all the lockouts.

I am also interested on allowing video. I know your company doesn't do it but if you know of a how to online that would help.

i have sold a few of these kits for the 370z.

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...%3AMESELX%3AIT

https://my350z.com/forum/370z-exteri...alled-oem.html

I also sold him the nav/video bypass switch. This allows full control of the nav and allows the video to be seen while in motion. Pm me if interested.

Our Beta test program works like this:

Buy the module at MSRP and in the comments section of the checkout form mark "beta test". Then, within 30 days of purchasing the module supply us with pictures/documentation of the installation. Once we get that info we will refund 50% of the purchase price.

If the module doesn't work we will refund 100% of the money you spent on the purchase (including shipping).

The same module may work on the M platform, but has never been tested.

Thank you,

Kevin
