i work for nissan and recenly went to school for new model training on the 370Z and i was told that they r not releasing an AWD 370Z unless the market calls for it... but im sure u can always drop in a G37 drive train since they r pretty much the same car.

Canada has a strong 'ZX' heritage I thought. though I don't think the 350 was 350ZX.

so let's do what all canadians would do in this situation: blame the americans who probably made the marketing signage. ****ing yanks.

The X stands for luxury. Was introduced with the S130, 280ZX.
X does not stand for AWD.
And did anyone notice the intro price of the 370Z in Canada? $39,9XX?

You're to young to remember the z32 and z33 launch.. nothing new about it.
When a car is released for the north american market, guess what, we get it too! Its funny how that works..

And I am sure its a typo, as mentioned in the regional thread you made.. Have you checked nissan.ca? It says 370z not 370zx

I will confirm after my test drive next week.. (weather permitting..)

Unlike our amercian neighbours.. Canadian 370z's are only sold as Touring models..
So..
Canadian Touring model = $39,998

US Touring model = $35,155

Ya, I just looked at the price real quick. Didn't look to see what the model was. Wow, no base model in CA

That's exactly it. The 'X' has nothing to do with AWD. The best example of that is the 96-01 Civic SI. In Canada the EX model is known as SI, and the SI model is known as SI-R. And they also have a model called SI-G.

I say its due to Canadian FOB'iness! I mean they can't even make up their minds if they want to speak English or French!? To mis-name a new car is no difficult feat for our Neighbors to the North. BTW, sorry about the acid rain thing guys. On the bright side, you guys can stay here illegally without worries of deportation!
