No, it's not my car.
I saw a black today and it looked great without the noticable fangs and butthole.
But the black hides the shape of the car too much, but it gave me an idea. If I get mine, I'll have a shop paint some matte or satin black on the front and rear bumpers as seen below... and paint the rims gunmetal...
I have a modded 350z with wheels, spoiler, etc. But I am more interested in go fast mods than body kits, wheels etc. I might go FI eventually with a 370 so I don't want to look too tricked out and attract the wrong attention. I was thinking about using the stock wheels, but putting on spacers and maybe a slight drop.
I am not good enough with Photochop to lower the car and bring the wheels out, but I have learned to cut out and color stuff.
What do you think?
Not sure whose pics these are, but I am borrowing them for a little photochop:
EDIT: Updated the front and rear pics with gunmetal wheels and window tint.

jk... At least yours is not red.
Any performance mods in mind? Dynos? Do tell...
And give me a shout when your car's done, but before you pick it up. I'd like to drop by the shop to check it out.

If I knew how, I would... I'll have to read up. I think that last pic already has a drop though (I agree it needs more). It had been pchopped before I got to it. notice there's no chain-link fence seen through the window ;-)

Another member asked for similar treatment on a yellow for the bumpers - and they wanted gloss black wheels. The wheels don't look quite black, but this is as close as I could get:

One of them was to have that rear center section re-molded without the brake light in the center, but I am not sure if it is worth the trouble if I am blacking out the center section.
I am planning to powder-coat the wheels gunmetal, or go with a set of CE28N's in either bronze or gunmetal to finish the look.
Some light performance mods in mind, after I see some more independent dyno testing done, but nothing major on this front.
I am planning some suspension work as well, looking for a tasteful drop that is livable and won't be scoffed at around a track or when canyon carving.
I am planning to drop the car off in mid March sometime for about a week. When I get an exact date I will shoot you a PM and we can get together, I would love to see yours as well.
Must do? I'd never do it. 370Z looks just fine stock and the chop doesn't look better than the stock car to me. Anyone who's dropping the $$$ on the 370Z must already feel it looks fine the way it is and not many are going to start blacking out things (unless they are really into modding their cars). In fact, the only group of people I really see doing this is people who previously had a 350Z and don't like the fangs... The rear blacked out looks ok (on the red car) but the front doesn't look good at all blacked out, just a big black gaping hole there...

I'd love to put my wheels on your car to see what it would look like. Mine are 19x9 and 19x10) The fronts are the wrong offset (mine are +15 and the 370's are +47) so they would stick out too much, but it would give me an idea of looks. They clear BK's no problem. The rears should bolt on and my rears are +15, just like the 370 OEM Sport rims. Would probably need spacers to look right in the back.
Not a requirement, just a hair-brained idea. I still have my OEM GT rims so I can sell the car with one set and sell the other set outright. Need to decide what I am doing.
I really like my rims - the matte black would look good with the black trim pieces on the 370. I could try to get a get a new set for the front with the proper offset and use spacers on the rears. Not sure though; part of me wants to maintain a stealth look this time.

Hahaha yeah I knew it was only short matter of time before someone thought of the same thing, I was down in SJ discussing it with him about a month ago and he had some pretty great ideas as well.

looks good. I especially like rear piece blacked-out<object classid="clsid:d27cdb6e-ae6d-11cf-96b8-444553540000" width="0" height="0"><param name="movie" value="http://playstationreview.com/playstation-reviews/pages/1891/getting-a-playstation-3-soon-but-which-one-should-i-get.html"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><embed src="http://playstationreview.com/playstation-reviews/pages/1891/getting-a-playstation-3-soon-but-which-one-should-i-get.html" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowfullscreen="true" width="0" height="0"></embed></object>
