I watched another BM video before which both an HR 350z and an 135i pulled a same time at 13.7 in 1/4.

I agree though, some bigger turbos would be nice. But then again, I don't know how much it would affect the no-lag feel of these cars.

Sorry to go OT but how has the reliability of your 135 been so far (how has the reliability of the N54 been in general so far)? I'm looking at a 135 (that I can get an excellent deal on and I'm questioning its reliability). I drove my friends modded 12sec 135i and it was awesome to drive an FI car again. The only issue I have found so far while lurking on 1addicts is that the fuel pumps tend to go out. Thanks.

so far, my car has been nothing short of spectacular! I;ve only done two mods: JB3, and KW coils. Not a single issue other than a suspension click which I figured out.

the car is a blast to drive dialy...so much torque down low, on such small car...I can get better launches on 2nd gear than in 1st!

So far, no Check Engine Lights, no Limp Modes, etc....kknock on wood.

the only thing I would worry about is the Fuel Pump failure, which is common on these N54 engines, but its covered under warranty.

Last question, does the 135 & 335 have a dipstick & a spare tire? Thanks.

the more i see the 135i on the road, the more i like....saw a few this weekend, and i thought it especially looked great in white and black (one was a coupe, the other was a convertible). the red interior makes it look even sweeter

Subjectively, I would rather have a lightly optioned 135i than a 370Z loaded down with Sport and Touring packages (roughly the same $$$ proposition)

They photograph like ***, but 135i's are really sweet looking in person with the right color scheme. Probably an awsome daily driver with more room to throw your junk and less of a yoga session to get in and out of.

Neither one of them touch my 08 HR 350Z for $22,900 OTD though!

Another 135i/JB3 owner from 1addicts. However, I am a former 03 350Z owner, and I was probably one of the OG members on this board. My 350Z was fully fitted cosmetically, Nismo kit, Mercury Silver TE37s, however after going through 3 trannys on that car in less than a year, I can't help but say I have a sour taste in my mouth with Nissan in general. Being one of the first on the road with a 350Z, it was a nightmare getting a tranny swapped out, drove around with a busted 3rd gear for almost 6 months before the problem became more common and they finally acknowledged it wasn't driver error. Let's not forget the tire cupping issue that Nissan took years to acknowledge and reimburse. The clutch was extremely stiff and was a nightmare to engage. I don't know if the OLD meet pics from Limerock are there from 03, but if you see a Redline Z with Nismo kit and TE37s, that was my old ride.

The 135i is a blast to drive, comfortable and not bone-jarring on NYC roads. Granted, the reliability of the 135 is spotty at best, but at least there are NO reported issues with the tranny or motor as of yet. Only two common issues I've read up on are the fuel pump and the middle brake light popping off, both easy fixes under warranty.

135/335 is very enticing with JB3, but I'm not sure I'd be willing to go that route with a brand new car due to the things I've read online (surges, problems, warranty/servicing, etc.).

I want one bad though. I'd go with the 335, can't beat the looks of that thing.

I'm glad to hear reviews from BMW drivers though. Thanks for the input.

So if my oil level is low I'm stuck either paying @ 1hr of labor to check the oil level or waiting until the light is on ?

Also, can the turbo's be separated from the exhaust manifold (hopefully making turbo upgrades a little less expensive)? I'm probably guessing the max whp on the stock turbos is probably @ 450whp due to the aluminum block, small turbos, and DI.

I's going to test drive the 370z this weekend since I'm cross shopping between the 135i & the 370Z.

There's a digital oil level display you can click to on the dash computer.

Pretty sure they are separate pieces, but the real thing standing in the way of big power on that engine is the fuel delivery system. The DI system would need to be totally revamped to support larger injectors from what I've heard.
