It really depends on what the cops are like in your area. A co-worker of mine bought a 350Z the same time I bought my G sedan. He's 39 and I'm 28. His car looks stock, as does mine. He's been pulled 6 times in the last 18 months by cops in the area we work. He looks his age and doesn't drive recklessly. I have a baby face (I get carded all the time) and have never been pulled in the G.

Our cops are particularly bad because we work in a near-rural area and they have nothing better to do. They all have new Chargers and it's a small town. Law enforcement has changed to 'revenue generation' because of the new cars.

He's never gotten a ticket, but I'm sure it's still a hassle. The worst part is that his Z is really clean and he takes good care of it, but wants a Camry now to stop the harassment. I don't blame him, but it's aggravating that people can't have nice things without people wanting a piece of the almighty dollar.

If you tint it and rice it out with a fart can exhaust, you will get pulled over more often than if you didn't have either of those items. A smart cop knows a car that does or does not have catalytic converters.

Guess what? You are going to get pulled over. Thats what kids in cars do, then they wonder why they are being pulled over.

If you drive properly and do not have mods on your car that attract attention then police leave you alone. Basically cops know you are not 23 because you are not acting like a 23 year old.
What does r(a?)whp have to do with anything? Other than that, I agree with your points.

I remember a time when people would say a "red" sports car was a "cop magnet" . I dont think cops care what color your car is or what type of car your driving....unless your doing something wrong. Of course there are always the exceptions..

it is not the car. it is the driver, how they drive it, and the stuff they do to the car.

Im 22 and the cops dont bother me for the most part. Ive only ever got warnings and end up talking to them about my car. But there is a cop here from Philly that must have a grudge against me. He constantly blames me for doing stuff that I dont do.

I heard that police issue tickets for just PURCHASING a 370Z... You get a warning for thinking about buying one. I didn't ask about the consequences for driving one... it's gotta be severe.

^this is what makes a Z a cop magnet.

I don't think my Z is a cop magnet, but I do think a orange sportscar with a noticable exhaust tune is going to grab a cops attention much easier then an accord or something.

I've never been stopped for absolutely no reason, but it's harder to get away with stuff when your car easily draws attention.

Sounds like you've been pulled over three times in a year. The speeding tickets will start coming, and you won't learn until many years after they take your license away. I speak from experience.

I drove an eclipse from age 16-20 and didnt get pulled over a single time. like many people have said, it depends on how you drive, not just what car you drive. they need to have a reason to pull you over, and if they dont, you dont have much to worry about.

It all depends on how you drive and if you have any illegal parts on the car. Super dark tint, tinted tails, super loud exhaust, and driving crazy make it that much easier to get pulled over. And sometimes you just get the cop that likes to pull over the nice car.

I have owned my 2003 350 for nearly 7 years...never been pulled over. SInce march, 2009, I have gotten pulled over 3 time with one ticket! The cops don't like to see a car accelerate from 50 to 70 in a second or two. It makes them jealous. Oh and they all wanted to talk about the car.

As long as you keep clean modifcations they won't pull you over. If you make the car into a rice-burner they'll always pop you.

Just keep the car looking the way it does. Sexy. If you modify it make sure the modifications are legit. They don't pull over classy looking modded out cars.

You're probably right they don't care what colour your car is. But picture this: on a bright sunny day a cop is sitting behind 4 lane hill hitting cars coming over with the rader. He can't get all of them at once so he has to select who he is going to hit. Two 350Z come over the hill, one is silverstone the other is nagaro red, which one do you think he is going to shoot first?

So you're asking for it a bit more by drivng a bright car, but like you said if you aren't doing anything wrong then you won't get pulled over anyways.
