Forged Performance: Project 370Z Race Car Build!!
My guess is even the first time out.....given the lower weight and more power (but less tire).....it was probably somewhat close to Rob Hines T2 time? Maybe not. Either way......in for results.

I was going to start another thread with a full track review. But to say the least, our 370Z race car program smashed our expectations for it's first track event, even with a fairly important adjustment that still needs to be made to the front shock travel. We ran a 1:19 lap at Roebling Road on the 3rd lap out in the morning, then clobbered with traffic the rest of the weekend. That car is absolutely insane in the corners, and the braking power is off the charts. I had an idiot's grin on my face for hours after I climbed out of the car. We had the fastest car at this Porsche club event, and there were plenty of heavy hitters. Many GT3's on slicks, 997TT's, etc..etc. For out first out of the box, we hit a home run. I have no doubt at these power levels the car is capable of 1:17 to 1:18 laps without adding more or tires. Still running the R888's.
And still with a bone stock engine and intake. Just the test pipes and exhaust...not even a tune!! It's only get to get much faster from here. :happydance:

Good work sharif, damn impressive to break 1:20 w/o really any sorting of the car.
Edit: Not sure if you mentioned it, but what was the final weight once it was all said and done?

This car is a beast. Once the power is increased it's gonna be a supercar killer on the track. Great work! Anyone looking to for a track monster this IS IT. Forged nailed it right out of the box.
I am not sure how up to date this is, but isn't the T1 (scca) record at roebling a low 1:15 (c5 Z06). If you can run 1:17 with just some additional sorting and on r888's........that would really be something. Not too mention you could probably pick up those 2 seconds (or something close to that) on full face hoosiers and some additional engine tuning. I realize that is far from apples to apples, but it's an interesting comparo b/w two differing set-ups. From looking around on scca forums the t1 vettes (C5) are generally in the 370-380whp @ a min weight around 3200. Does the initial great run make you want to keep it NA?

1:17 Forged GT-R (running R888's 295/305)
1:19 Forged 370Z (running R888's 295/305)
Here is the incar I took. Sorry for the crappy cam placement. I moved the cam to the roof on the next session, and then it flew off at 145mph on the front straight.

HR is not faster. Sick.. I had a 370 drive by me the other day and it just looks so wide and somewhat exotic, I love it! Great driving as usual Sharif. Cant wait to see what she can with some real power.
