Thanks for the response. Your assistant knows a lot of Z-cars! I guess they teach that instead of grammar in Minnesota.
I live in California, so maybe I'm a bit spoiled by the pricing because of the high-supply and relative low demand. The local dealerships have NISMOs at sticker, and $3k mark-up on the R35s (GTR). Your marketing team should also know that special collector's editions depreciate in value more quickly than similar models that are not collectors. In California, you'd be dreaming to sell that car for more than $3k over sticker given the money the dealer makes between invoice and MSRP as well as the holdback value. Do you realize why Nissan doesn't produce a high-end, say twin turbo, Z34 (370Z)? Because it would get too close in price to the R35 and cut into the sales of that vehicle, which is precisely what you do when you put a 25% mark-up from MSRP on a Z-car. Mr. K already thought the $27k Z33 (350Z) was overpriced (and under-delivered) compared to when he designed the 240Z. I'm sure he will have a heart attack when he sees his beloved Z-car with an asking price of $50k.
Ask what you will for the car like the local dealership did with a new 08' NISMO that they sat on for 1.5 years. They offered it to me personally for $25k - 16 miles on it and never registered - so they could make room for more Z34s.

That's near-verbatim to what I said. I also highly-doubt his "assistant" drew up that ad all on their own. See my response below:

No response to the last email. . .
I'm not surprised.
I acknowledged in the email that they can ask whatever they want for the car. The point is that Nissan hires disgruntled Chevy sales people to sell an entirely different car. They talk like they know the Z line-up and heritage, and if they knew it'd be great, but it's all BS. $50k for a 350Z with some special emblems? Get real.
I have talked to a lot of Nissan dealerships. I've only been impressed by their Infiniti line so far. The type of people the two hire are completely different.

The Z was lauched world wide in October 1969 as the 1970 240Z, heralding a new era in Sports Car design. Most remember the Z being a hit in all Generations, in the past 40 years I am certain youv'e owned a Z or wanted a Z "NOW IS THE TIME". Whether the 240Z, 260Z, 280Z, 300ZX, or 350Z have caught your attention the 370Z is the Ultimate I assure you.
theres something wrong here.
i dont remember there being a 260z

I just received a response - he blames the educational system in Minnesota! Is this a Nissan dealership or "impulse racing"?

** CRAIGSLIST ADVISORY --- AVOID SCAMS BY DEALING LOCALLY
** Avoid: wiring money, cross-border deals, work-at-home
** Beware: cashier checks, money orders, escrow, shipping
** More Info: http://www.craigslist.org/about/scams.html
I apologize on the grammar. My assistant is from Minnesota. So I would probably blame the education system there. Understanding your concern on the ten thousand mark up however the nismo which is 1500 built per year since 2007 is marked up $5000. The GTR has had a $30,000 mark up and we receive 9 per year. There is only 1,000 40th anniversary Zs built world wide. Less then 600 to the US. Some one looking for a Z can buy a Z some one who would like a collectors car or a piece of history may purchase the 40th anniversary 370Z.

Anyway if you are going to spell the whole number you may as well be consistent and do it for all of them. Just a thought.
