Default Small problems with my 370z

Just want to give all 370z owners a heads up about two things. First i have had my 370 for a year and the driver side mat is tearing between the rubber in the middle and the actual mat. Its under warranty so the dealer is getting me new ones. Second i got some hail damage fixed and the shop forgot to put in two plugs under the hatch. So when it rained water came in through the holes and wet both seat belts and pooled up in the little cubbys under the seats. Sorry i dont have pics but i just wanted to let everybody know about these things.

hmm but that isnt problems of nissan. more like problems that have accrued with the car because of wear and tear aka mats?? and some weather elements.

The plugs under the hatch yes but the tearing of the mats? I dont get in my z with grimy shoes so my mat should last longer than one year.

the mats issue sounds like wear and tear and since its under warranty you're guaranteed replacement mats for 3 years....good deal.

The mats used to have a plastic ring that would break, the new ones are made of metal. But you're saying the actual mat is tearing?

It was golf ball sized dents. I took it to a real auto body shop not one of those side of the road deals.

Yes on the middle of 370 mats is a big rubber square. The square is coming out of the mat. I will see if a buddy of mine will let me borrow his camera and i will try to put up a picture of it.

Were they able to pop out the dents or did they have to either fill them in with bondo or replace parts? I have a small dent in my hatch about the size of a dime and wonder if it can be pushed back out and look like it never happened. I suppose it's a question of how much the metal was stretched.

Let me know.

Thanks

So what are you saying? If golfball sized hail hits other cars they won't dent?

If you are telling us the shop didn't do a good repair job then the name of the shop is important not the type of car, no?

My hatch and hood were dented pretty bad so they orderd new ones. Just shop around about that dent most shops will do it the way you want them to.

^ ah gotcha...yeah the 03-04 mats were crap too. Had mine replaced under warranty with 06 matts and they've held up great. Guess Nissan didn't learn their lesson.

I have the same floor mats in my car since when I bought it and while they don't look new, they are in pretty good shape for having 76K+ miles on them. Sorry to hear, luckily they are a cheap fix.

The body shop issue is not Nissan's fault.

Yes i know but why would nissan build a car with two drain holes that run water into the seat belts and behind the seats.

I can see it isn't getting through to you that it is NOT Nissan's fault that the shop did not put the plugs back in, so I figured I would also say it. You want to blame Nissan for the fault of the body shop and still say the body shop did a great job...makes no sense
