Default Would You Buy One???

I have a 2003 350Z with just under 13000 miles. It is that time of year when I look at insuring the cars again. Snow and salt are off the road finally a bit rainy though. I usually pick up the phone and call the insurance guy and he drops off the slips the next day or so. I just cannot seem to make the call when it comes to the 350, I do not bother driving it anymore. I have a few other things older german stuff mostly now and a piece of italian junk. Along with one of their damn bikes!!! I like them, enjoy them and what not. They seem to fit my lifestyle better. I like golfing and sailing. Stuff like that.

Will the 370Z end up the same way???

You see my significant other has already made the offer to go out and purchase a new one. She thinks the 350z is old and worn out now and unsafe. I guess the newer ones are safer I am not sure. I just really do not see myself driving it. I think at 42 and retiring in the next few years it is time to move on.... I think I just got too old for it. I still think it looks great. Hell so does the 370Z. However she really likes the newer exotic stuff. She just hits so much crap I would hate the downtime when it comes to repairs! Plus I am real **** about my stuff.

Would you buy one??? Lets say if you could afford a car where the 370Z was even 10% or 15% of the cost of another car. I am not talking financing... Or a line of credit or home equity line. I am talking writing the check and not having to worry about it???

Would you buy the 370Z or move on???

IMO any car is only as safe as the driver, if she is constantly running into things, i'd put my foot down and not fork over the 30k+ for a new car only to pay more $$ in the near future to replace parts.

The 350z is still a very stylish car and you still don't see them on every corner like you do with mustangs, etc...if she is adamant about getting a new car then look into a car that isn't very costly to repair. that's only if $$ is an issue.

Now if $$ isn't an issue at all, which the above post seems like it isn't, you have 2 options IMO:

1. bite the bullet and know that whatever car you wifey gets into, it's going to need repairs.
2. trade in the wife?

what are your future plans if you get a new car? Is it something that she is going to drive or are you both going to share it? Are you looking for a stylish and fast car still? If so, one of my favorite cars to own would be the new Audi RS5

this is what the S5 (not the faster RS5) sounds like with full exhaust ONLY!

Your significant other is going to buy a 370Z for you? That's pretty cool.

I already know she destroys what ever she drives. She also makes more then enough to buy what ever she wants. She usually does just that. Which is also the reason why I would not get rid of her it would be far to costly.. When it comes to cars I already have more then one 911. I would not call it the last car to own personally.. they are a fairly quirky automobile.

Thanx for the advice it looks like I will be moving it into long term storage for the foreseeable future. I just out grew it I guess.

Your 2003 has 13k miles and she thinks it's old and wore out? The 370 is a very nice car (i own one) but it sounds you already have too many toys and not enough time.

I have a 2004 ZR with 13,500miles...

I am bored with it but it has been paid off since 2006. I figure if I was to buy another car I would skip the 370Z. I drove one and for the price there are faster options to select from. Now if they were to add twin snails FACTORY, then I would do it.
