$40 thousand means little to me. MSRP? The dealer is adding fees? Taxes?

If this is a 2011 leftover I am sure you can deal. 2012 will be pricy for about 6 months.

the MSRP price was 42k something but i got it down to 40k+taxes and dealer fee. it is still a little pricey for me though. I my z is old and i want a new one but i cant believe the touring coupe Z is 40k+ now. Roadster was 37k for the 06 model in 06. Now it is 48k

for 48k I rather get a lotus Elise or slk

My 40th Anniversary had a sticker of $42k but I took it off the showroom floor for $35,900 with 14 miles on it.

The 40th's come fully loaded except NAV and it's 6spd only.

Check out www.truecar.com. A decent site for gauging car prices in your zip code.

I'm surprised the coupe cost bothers you less than the roadster price. there are a lot of better performing options over the Z coupe at it's price, too. they need to step the power up or lower the price. the Z was a bargain in 2002/2003, not so much anymore.

this is all subjective though.

You need to get close to a 15% off the msrp + taxes.

This is how low you can get with truecar.com, assuming the stealership will honor the price of course. Honda was actually suing truecar.com for selling cars too cheap.

I found a 2011 370z at Nissan with the sport package, they were willing to let it go for a little over 32.5K but I get VP Pricing.

A 2012 at the same dealership (no sport package) was about 33.8 brand new (without my VP pricing) I'd imagine it would be about 31K.

Those are super great prices!
OP needs to find a dealer with internet pricing or contact you!

I bought my '04.5 Touring ZR in May of '04 brand new from a dealer in Tenna. I flew down from Ohio, salesman picked me up at the airport & I drove the car home.....what a fun ride!....at that time I paid $99 over invoice. $35,500. I couldn't find a roadster in my area no where near that price let alone a roadster that was available for sale!
Good Luck!

I am from san diego. I and there are six dealers around here. They are own by one corporation. Mossy Nissan! I need to get my *** up in LA or Orange County area! But it sucks to drive a brand new car that long. I usually drive my brand new car within 30 mile distance max for the first 1000 miles!!!! ehehehhe and never go pass 65 mph....

The way the new engines are built today...you can go longer distances using higher miles per hour. Do not drive a consistant mph...you have to fluctuate every 10 minutes or so....had mine over 80 at certain times. I drove the norm at 55-75 mph from Nashville to Hudson, Ohio. My engine held up great!!!! Even today I don't burn oil at all!
Shop around by using the internet first before driving to LA!

Be sure to tape off the front end with masking tape if you're traveling long distance with new car. Rock chips on new car sucks.

Thanks. I probably will wait and get the car from a local dealer. I dont really want to drive to LA and back just to save like 500 dollars or maybe 1k. Gas is about 60 dollars. Waste my whole day! rock chips!!! not so cool! i probably will get the one in SD. I am actually searching for the 2011 model so i can save some money. but they seem to not have a ZR! however, for a 45k i would rather get the slk! hard top convertible for 50k if i do that means good bye my350z

I think it's still a bargain for a Base ... However, you start adding features and it's going to cost ya. For $30K you get a lot more car than you did in 2004. However, this time I stepped it up a bit and bought the Base Sport so that I could get the wheels, brakes and VLS rear diff. for $33.6. It's worth the extra $3600 to get the wheels, brakes and diff with a warantee. Plus, it nice to have the other features that come on the Sport equiped model. It a lot better car and with cruise control over my 2004 Base. Let's don't forget the +50HP.

Yes, $40K is a lot for a 370Z... But start adding it up and it might be worth it to you. Nicer Stereo, Power Seats, Leather ....

For me leather is nice and I can add custom leather for $1K anytime I want.
Bought aftermarket Stereo that blows away the factory stereo for $500. That's all that I needed ... So $33.6 + $500 $34.1K I'm sitting pretty with a car that has all the power I need, warantee and get 28-30mpg to boot. Still working on the 30mpg. Have reached 29mpg on bumpy traffic infested roads. I think I can break the 30mpg mark on a run to LA and back though. We'll see...
