Nissan green lights "mini Z"
Oh man... read rumors about the next platform moving toward that trend, smaller, lighter, less power... now the concept pictures surface sigh
If I wanted that I would have bought a miata

Seems alot like the old 2G eclipse GS-T GSX. Small, fwd turbo 4 with AWD turbo option.
Rather ironic too that Toyota/Subaru and now Nissan getting back into small sports cars after Mitsu murdered the clipse line and recently discontinued it

they definitely should not refer to this as a mini Z
however the AWD turbo version definitely has my attention but the slower fwd base model is just a fish-looking competitor to the CRZ not the FRS/BRZ

Meh, if im gonna get a lil bull ish car i would rather get me some Nissan Juke....
cant see why anyone with a Z would also want one of these...a juke i can functionally use daily driving and load up a few things, save some gas or my Titan and have some daily driving fun in...
interesting though....ill look out for it...

I'm so over this FRS hype. Why does everyone allow Toyota to set the bar? They claim that the Z is in a different class/price range so it isn't competing. You can get a base Z for what the FRS costs (mid-high 20s). I think Nissan should just ignore this thing.

I wish they would... the brz is making a splash too. I'm really nervous for the next Z platform, if they make changes in that direction I am definitely not going to be interested. The cost is lower for a reason, cheaper inferior parts, poor interior quality, just too much focus on economic value, which imho should NOT be of concern when designing a real sports car!
If Nissan wants to compete against the FRS and BRZ, it would make much more sense to bring back the Silvia/240SX platform. I think it's a good idea to have a relatively cheap 4-cylinder RWD entry level sports car available in the model lineup. It would just be a travesty to call it a Z. IMO Subaru and Toyota capitalized on a void that existed in the market after Nissan stopped making the S chassis.
