Respect is due for such an awesome car. Everyone needs to chill out a bit .

I amazed how in EVERY thread about the GT-R turns into a battle royal between the silly nannies and the nuthuggers.
You're all a bunch of twits.

I love the GTR and it's a great car that outperforms cars costing twice as much. But the GTR nuthuggers (aka areddy) that think it's Gods greatest creation, is what gets under peoples skin sometimes. I mean come on, not even MC (who is expecting delivery of his GTR in July) is as big a nuthugger as areddy.
Once again

I have no clue why everyone is getting so angry at me. There are a healthy number of people on this site who share my sentiments.

First of all, with markup, options, and taxes I can assure you no one will be able to get a GT-R for less than 100k. Yes it may be a "low-level" 6 digit car but it's a 6 digit car nonetheless. I don't get why people bring up that stuff about Ferraris being "hand-made" and somehow that makes them better. You guys do realize those are just marketing ploys to get people to waste a quarter million dollars on a pretty ordinary performance car (when comparing it to the GT-R)? Who cares if the GT-R is off an assembly line? In my opinion the Ferrari looks like it's made out of cheap parts, especially the interiors.
Please explain to me how being hand-made is somehow such a great thing. In my eyes, this "hand-made" crap means nothing. It's almost like those AMG Benz engines being "signed" by the person who crafted that particular engine. It means nothing and is just a way for them to justify the high cost due to the prestige of owning a rare car.
The GT-R has every business in tagging along because it's an equally fine car to all of those vehicles. You guys are focusing way too much on the badge and looks, which I thought most performance enthusiasts would stray away from.
If liking a car for it's aggressive looks and superior performance all coming in at a more than reasonable price is called nut-hugging, then well sir, call me a nut-hugger.
Maybe not, but since when is straight-line performance ever the focus? A Bugatti is the fastest production car in a straight line but it sucks on the 'ring. And so does an LP640.
I guess I would too... at myself for being shown who's boss by the GT-R!
Explain yourself. Who is "us"? There are hundreds of people on this site who share my opinions.
Fair enough. An opinion I don't agree with, but I do respect your choice nevertheless.
You keep thinking this.
And why not? The whole point of the GT-R's bragging rights is that it can do what most V12 cars can't, all with a V6. The 911 GT3 has a 6 cylinder engine, and the M6 as a V10... but which would you rather be driving? I thought so.
+1. I have no clue, I guess most people here can't appreciate the car and immediately assume it's "rice" as michaeljr6 so eloquently put it, just because it doesn't have an Italian or German badge on it.
I hope my statements have cleared up any confusion.

And why the hell would some dude in a $250K Ferrari F-430 give two ***** about a GT-R? ; much less be happy one is trailing along with them.
He's got a hand built car that's rare and carries a long prestige. The gt-r is a largely assembly lined produced car coming from a japanese company that makes 4 banger grocery getters.
The GT-R doesnt eclipse ****, lets not downgrade a ferrari or other exotic, just to maintain a false sense of nissan loyalty.
Not to hate of the GT-R but its got no business with that group, and its really lame to tag along

So what's your point? Big deal they slapped a TT on an ugly Nissan and now it out performs most lambo's and Ferrari's. Are we all supposed to be happy now? Do you want a cookie?
lol, a car that cost 5 digits showing of in the sea of cars that cost 6 digits. It's like an RSX trying to show off in a Z cruise
And I guess a couple hundred more people on this site are giving "Nissan" owners a bad name too then.

you just done get it do you...... there is a difference between defending a car, and commenting on its ability,
and blatently nutthugging on it... by doing so you are no better than those that post ignorant comments about it... in fact its actually worse... and annoying to boot

happy or sad. i could careless. and why wouldn't i want a cookie? choclate chip please.
Ugh I give up. I was defending the reasons as to why the GT-R does belong in that group of exotics... or at the very least doesn't look out of place.
I have provided a better argument than you guys have for it NOT belonging there. The only things you have brought up are name brand, price, being hand-made, and V12 engines.
And like I said go ahead and call me a nut-hugger for my reasons in the post above.

A V6 with a TT slapped on gives the GT-R Bragging rights? How is that bragging rights? Let the lambo or Ferrari slap on a TT and now we will see who is the top performer. Why don't you try comparing apples to apples son?
So are you saying that a Dodge Srt-4 wich has been modded to keep up with its sibling Viper would be in the same class? You don't think it would look out of place in a parade of Vipers or even Vettes? Do you consider the current z06 as the same class as a GT-R?

That GT-R in that video is just like a modded civic around a group of 350z enthusiast. That civic can outrun you but you would still think it's just a 4-cylinder banger with a bunch of work.
What do you think those guys in those exotics are going to say
"hmm, you heard that sound of that V6"!!!

Yeah when you roll in those groups they do say, "Did you hear the ******* turbo on that thing!!?!" In reference to the Supras.
Both automakers have a racing heritage with their cars, one is considered exotic due to it not being easily attainable, with superior quality and sometimes performance.
Z06 isn't an exotic but it can slap the living tar out of Porsche's and Ferrari's alike, I wouldn't say it doesn't belong in that group just because it's not made by said manufacturer.
Also if you toss turbo's on a Ferrari, you just wasted that car and it's resale value, since their some of the only cars that appreciate in price.
Throwing a turbo on a car to compete with a car with factory turbo doesn't make it an apples to apples argument either.

Aredy, though I may not agree with your view in its whole entirety, I do commend you for actually responding with counter points to peoples arguments with valid opinions other then, "its a ferriari", "it's a v10" or, "it's like comparing a civic to a..."
On that note I will say, I do believe the GT-R has all right to be riding with those cars. It is a car which from the factory is a technological marvel. The GT-R has a racing heritage that goes back as far as some of those company names and it's a proven performer on and off the track.
Now the GT-R may not be hand built or even carry an ounce of the prestige that those exotic cars have but that wasn't the engineers intentions. It was built to do exactly what we are watching it do in the video and that's cause a commotion among exotic owners and hold its own for a third of the value.
One more thing, for those who make the comparisons that it is nothing more then a twin turbo civic running with a bunch of Z's, I find that a bit of an exaggerated parallel. For one the civic didn't come stock from the factory to keep with a bunch of enthusiasts performance wise. I do give credit to those who do build their civics to out perform more expensive and out of class cars but there is something to be appreciated about an out the factory car that performs just as well as upper class car.

Guess I will throw my meager 2 cents in to the pot. Watched the Video, kinda boring but cool to see a GTR on the streets. I am not a Fanboi, but I do like the GTR. If I had 75 grand, I would most definately love to have one. Pretty cheap when you look at the performance you get. However, to answer the question... does it fit in with the group of cars in the video? My answer, not even fuking close. That is a pack of exotic supercars that drop jaws. When they all cruise by, people will stop and stare and wonder what the heck those guys do for a living to be driving what some would consider dream/ fantasy cars. You drive by in the new GTR, and most normal everyday people will say thats a neat looking car, what is it? Oh its a Nissan. Is that the new Altima? no says here GTR, cool. A Nissan will never have the presence that a 200k$ Exotic Lambo or Ferrari has. Having said that, I would love to have a GTR!!!

but you should really check out the previous generations of the GTR.
