the official news from Nissan is like this.
first of all Nissan wont recognize L/C. but they did tell me that IF you have a failure while VDC is off then the repair is not covered under warranty.
so its 2+2=4. you cant do L/C unless VDC is off so therefore basically if you go out there and screw the car up with L/C then you have to pay for it.
so what that means its its not like if you turn VDC off and your radio quits working then your whole warranty is void.
ive been in a GTR during launch control but still havent done it in mine. its pretty brutal but the car can handle it.
i did 5 hard launches without it and the car hesitates just a little before going ***** out fast. you CANNOT make the GT-R spin wheels without launch control, you have to launch from an idle without it. if you try to power brake like you would in an auto it will mess the dual clutch up. R mode it under warranty but again like any thing its a judgement call if you abuse the car then of course it isnt under warranty
even with the bog/hesitation i managed a 4.1 0-60 in full auto mode with VDC in R mode. so with L/C anyone who doenst believe this is a 3.5 second car is in denial
here watch this. watch when the guy launches without L/C you can see how it paused for a second

While it seems kind of lame to not warranty the car through all it's different modes, I would rather see the car ship out with as many options out there for the driver as possible.
Imagine if they dropped launch control because they thought owners would get pissed off over the warranty issues... it's better to have the function and put the responsibility in the hands of the driver.
If you're abusing the GTR to the point of drivetrain failure, you shouldn't be in the car in the first place.

well think of it like this. you go buy the car then you go to a parking lot and do 50 L/C's in a row. ok that is gonna break the car. then you take it to the dealer and complain something is wrong with the tranny. well no ****.
so the way i understand it is like this. since NNA wont advertise the car has L/C they just heavily deter you from driving with VDC off because for one you cant do L/C with it on and #2 VDC in R mode is really the optimum setting. it isnt intrusive and actually helps you on a track /performance driving situation.

can you please explain the perfect launch?

yeah i mean with L/C you press the accelerator all the way down while holding the brake. but the difference between that and just power braking is the car knows its in L/C mode and holds the RPMS itself to 4500 waiting on you to release the brake.
but yeah the manual says never to press the brake and the accelerator at the same time as it will over heat the clutch.
so im not sure exactly how L/C is different but im personally not going to rev my engine while holding the brake unless im in L/C mode. so i guess i will have to deal with the slight hesitation. its not too bad i will try to make a video of it this weekend
