I didn't really feel like going into to it so I can see how my logic may be flawed to you. My response was just a quick response to this:

1500 hp GTRs have been around. Although, I guess the statement that brought on his response was pretty stupid as well as to the Viper not having potential. Either way, what's out there is already out there. I still can't believe how impressed the Viper guys are about getting 1500hp. It's not exactly a technological marvel. You started with 8 liters of displacement. The Viper starts with 3 times the displacement of the old GTRs and you're complaining about my comparison because the car didn't have a full interior and AC. What interior does the Viper have anyway? The GTRs have been coming from the factory with over 100hp per liter since the 90s. Even Civics get that now but the Viper.....not so much. I love Vipers for everything they are but when you guys get into pissing contests and start complaining I don't know what to say. I love 1500hp Vipers as much as the next guy but I am more impressed with a Neon SRT4 with 1500hp than I am a Viper. Forgive me for enjoying cars from a more design and engineering standpoint. GTRs made over 100hp/liter stock and were able to make 4 and 5 times as much horsepower to the wheels as it came with from the factory at the crank. When the Vipers start coming from the factory with 830hp at the crank and get tuned to 3500whp, I'll be a little more impressed, not that impressing me is a high concern for anyone.

I see where you are coming from but again I guess I just have a pet peve with the ricer math stuff. Like the hp per liter issue. What does it matter hp per liter if you are getting your azz handed to you? Ill take 600hp with cubes over a 240hp S2k or Civic any day of the week regardless of hp/ltr. BTW the whole point of cubes is just that. Understressed motor that doesnt have to spin to 10k to make power. Its just a different way of making power and its not nessessarily inferior. The Veyron used 4 turbos to make its 8 ltr motor do 1001hp but no one questions its lack of high hp/ltr NA. Benz as well as Z06 use large cubes but they are not paned. Weird. I think its something about the Viper that makes people hate it lol. It is a crude vehicle with a turd like interior etc

Some of these street Vipers are running as fast as stripped out high powered full race imports. You have to respect cubes as much as hp/ltr thing is all Im saying. Both get results but go about it in different ways.

Like I said, I love Vipers. From an engineering standpoint, they're just crude. HP/liter is just an engineering thing. Speed is speed no matter how you get there and the Viper isn't short on that. If the Viper came out with a little brother called the Garter Snake and it was a 3 liter making the same hp/liter it would have 187 hp. How long before someone tunes that thing to 1500hp? I imagine it would take quite a while. I am no where near a ricer nor do I use ricer math. Ricer math is bringing up the fact that the GTR had no interior and AC.

LOL......Just saying one was a race car the other street car. Not apples to apples. I agree with everything else you said.

I hate to come in to this, but the fact you brought the hp/l argument in as a 'benchmark of engineering' fully discredits you.

i didn't know you were an artist/ designer too andy, that makes sense i'm just a young architect (intern not licensed) but my favorite car, maybe all time, is still the viper (99 gts).. but that gtr is thing of beauty, and i can't wait to see what you do with it!

140 mph on the street? I heard you can't over 110 mph because of some device in the car that can detect when you're on a track or street.

Congrats on the car! Even though I like the looks of the Viper, I would still take the GTR. I haven't driven the GT-R, but I'm sure it's fun in the Canyons and track
