Default GTR North American Allocation Total & Production Duration?

Earlier today I tried to look all over google and the internet to find a source for both allocation and duration of production for the GTR and came up empty.

The only info I could find was the sales goal for the launch year and year 2. (from an edmunds inside line with a NNA product manager)

Launch year is 2,500 units in the US market and 1,500 in the year following launch.

I also came across initial US sales figures for the month and CY08.

Dec - 149

Total CY08 - 1,730

(see page below)

Can anyone offer any additional info?

Considering the limited production, the costs involved and the special nature of the car, I doubt stopping production or skipping a model year would do much good or harm. To put it another way - the GTR is just a drop in the bucket within the big picture of Nissan Corporation.

I did notice about three weeks ago that all three local dealers have GTRs in stock, a total of 5 among them. After that initial wave of sales, the economy has really put the brakes on people spending free cash and a GTR purchase is definitely a "free cash" kind of "buy". I know if things were like they were a year ago, I'd be negotiating on the red one sitting at the dealer. Instead I'm just stockpiling cash

The USDM one was on sale till a month ago in the emirates, we now have a model which is called "Gulf" spec, which is for the ME market, but before that, all the GT-Rs were USDM... so those figures have to include the one in the UAE as well... i guessing

Those are numbers reported by Nissan North America, not Nissan Corporation. They reflect only those sold by NNA regardless of the "spec" or origin of the car (USDM, JDM, ME, etc.). I'm sure the same is true for the distributor for the ME, they would report sales for their region, not dependant on the spec or origin of the vehicles.

ROFL at finally getting the conversation started about production numbers 6 months after I posted the question.

I have yet to find what the final allocation is for the US, I know there was initial allocation numbers, but it was for the first two years only.

I had heard 8000 cars over 5 years. I assume the R36 would be coming after 5 years.

LOL at you bumping this thread just to say you have a G-TR.

Your posting of sales numbers doesn't help to highlight the total production run or duration brominator.

sorry about that ....... I just thought my info would be of help. I guess not.

From start to finish, the entire build process takes 200 minutes. This works out to roughly 27 engines a day at the plant's current staffing level. Eventually there will be 20 technicians working on two shifts to meet the full production goal of 12,000 GT-Rs a year. If there's demand for more, additional workers will be added

Where are you getting your info?

Your estimates don't really make sense in this economic climate.
