Default The Possible GT-R LM

Although it is conceded by most that the GT-R SpecV is one of the quickest and best-handling cars in current production, however, a lot of car fans was anticipating that Nissan would create something more outlandish from the special edition version.

As the introduction of the car was drawing nearer, talks of a 550hp (410kW) power yield and a curb weight that is lesser by 220lb (100kg) caused great excitement in many quarters. Although the SpecV was not a total disappointment, its 485hp (362kW) power yield and weight reduction of 132kg surely were.

Nissan, however, justified this saying that the SpecV is not a high-performance variant of the GT-R and that another version is in the works. What Nissan is building has not yet been revealed but one speculation that is gaining credibility points to a road going variant of its FIA GT1 racecar. The legendary ‘LM’ designation is expected to be restored for the so-called high-performance GT-R and power yield is speculated to go as high as 592hp (442kW) and a torque rate of 506lb-ft (685Nm).

Since the expected price for the new model is higher than the SpecV, only a totally limited production run can be expected. The beginning price in Japan is $161,800, which is already twice the price of the regular GT-R. This GT-R model is not theonly model in development currently according to some speculation. An Spec-M model is going to be launched by Nissan which is a tamer version of the model aimed at luxury buyers looking for vehicles with high performance capabilities.

Vspec price point FTL. I think someone could take 30k and make a GT-R lighter and faster than a Vspec and still have case left over.

Yeah the Spec V price was a huge fail. I would have expected this new high performance version to be around that price.
