Thought I'd share, Skyline GTR @ Dealer Auction
Am I the only one to think that this is far removed from a “steal of a lifetime”? So let’s say you get an awesome price and you have a hook-up for parts and body work; so all said and done your total cost is 50K. Now keep in mind that this is going to be a SALVAGE title; so no warranty and your resale value will be terrible. I would not buy this unless I was planning to keep the car indefinitely and wrench on it myself, or use it as a dedicated track vehicle. Finally, you better have your finances in order because the maintenance on a GTR is mighty expensive, and if anything goes wrong, without warranty say hello to $$$.

Just to let everyone know, the prices on here are ridiculously low compared to market prices. I got my 350z here with 5000 Miles for $12,500 with about $3,000 rear damage. I've driven it now for a year, and will probably end up selling it for $20k ish.
BMW 6 series clean go for about 30ish.... Range Rovers for 10-15ish.... some are 20-25 if they are sport edition.... hmmm what else.. 2004 Porsche 911 Clean title theft reocvered went the other day for 24,500 USD.....
I got a 2004 BMW 545i for $15,000 here a while back with $4,000 damage.
Some vehicles on here are salvage, and some are clean.
That 360 has 58K on the clock. No way you want to buy that. If the GT-R goes for $20K, sell the shi+ you dont need like the seats, the interior, the wheels, all of that junk and you could almost come out on top, then throw in a cage, seat, do coilovers, motor stuff and its a fun weekend toy that could destroy most cars on the planet.
Anyone can log onto Copart.com and find these same "deals". It's open to the public for viewing, only need to be a dealer to bid and even then there are copart "Resellers" that allow the public to bid.
Also CoParts bids are low until the auction actually starts, 75% of the **** that goes through that auction is overpriced.
That GT-R will sell for $35k+ at least. It looks like it'll take about $15k to fix it and salvage title and warranty don't mean anything when it comes to exporting cars to different countries. I would also not post this on a public forum if you are trying to seriously pick it up unless you want to increase the pool of buyers and your price.
I buy and sell about 200 cars annually. Individuals, if you are looking for a deal, stay away from copart. There is WAY too much competition on there for an individual to know what they are doing. People bid on their own cars to trick newbies or individuals and use countless tricks to rip off the naive. You can make money on there if you know what you are doing. But the only thing this GT-R is good for is exporting. This GT-R is still worth $59-63k for export purposes. Salvage title gets washed in the process and some naive buyer in the UAE or Russia will have a GT-R that has been wrecked.
On a side note if anyone in this thread is serious about a GOOD DEAL on a GT-R I have an 09 Red Premium with delivery miles (but it's been titled a few months agoso warranty is counting down). - $74,950obo
Can pick them up for high $20's - low 30's at Manheim and not pay coparts ridiculous fees and get ripped off.
There's no such thing as a cheap Range Rover. The 03-04 that are in this price range are full of major issues. I would not touch 9/10 Range Rovers that I see at Copart.
I have NEVER seen a Sport go for ANYWHERE near $20 on Copart that wasn't seriously damaged. Range Rovers are my speciality and I would buy them at that price all day long.
That 360 is also way overpriced. I can get high mileage 360's at that price with CLEAN titles.
Not all my comments are directed towards OP, just did not want to individually quote every single person in this thread. I've seen FAR too many people get ripped off at Coparts and just trying to help members from falling into the same trap.

+1...exactly what I was thinking
Kevin, if you got your own body shop its pretty affordable through copart/adesa/impact auto (canada). Manhiem here in canada is basically dealers reselling their vehicles on the runway in addition to the finance companies, it usually goes really expensive though.
Im not going to get the GTR in anycase. Inventory is a bit full right now, gotta get rid of vehicles before I pickup anymore. I got a S2K for 8k last year and was 2grand to fix.. sold it for 20 (salvage title too). Copart has lots of clean titles (lots of lease reposessions in the U.S now)
