Yea, never considered the tires to play such a big role. So if there are 5 tires with same sizes/width, what makes one brand better than the other? The design of the grooves? Im sure its not the material, since its all rubber, right?

Meh, any car can go fast in a straight line.

Lets see it the same cars at Willow Springs and it will be a completely different outcome.

Actually, you might be surprised by that outcome as well... per the MT article. They make it seem like the SS is a true throwback to the days of big horsepower and little emphasis on anything else.
