That's just it, the Veyron is stock. As they pointed out in Top Gear it was designed to do what it does on a regular basis, with out blowing an engine, without destroying the transmission on every launch, without ripping out the interior, without making you go deaf in the cockpit while approaching top speed, without making you feel like you're going to go lifting off the ground and into space when you're at the limit.

Sure, I can modify almost any car and make it go faster. In fact that's the route I usually like going. But if I just wanted a weekend car that I didn't modify ever, I'd take the Veyron hands down. I'll save my other modified car for track days.

Oh, if only I had the money. :-)

A super luxury sports car that can do a 1/4 mile in 10.2 @ 150mph while weighing well over 4,000 pounds sounds like more than "just top speed" to me... its braking power is incredible as well.

Also, comparing highly modified cars to a stock, off the showroom floor car is hardly a fair comparison at all. I don't think Bugatti made the Veyron to be a track monster.

I would use a Veyron just about anywhere and everywhere if I had one.

Compare quality and interiors.

The sound system in the Veyron costs $30,000. THIRTY THOUSAND EFFING DOLLARS. The sound system in that car costs more than a 370z, 5.0 Mustang etc..

That GTR is just sick nasty, I'd probably rock that over a veyron for fun but come on.. Ghetto racing steering wheel and sheet metal for an interior compared to luxury on a whole new level for the veyron.
